  1. Does anyone happen to have the podcast from 25th September please? Many thanks, Harry
  2. Oh my. I think Nick's humour clearly goes over your head! He often makes jokes about his producers. For example when he used to say Matt Fincham was looking nice in a backless gown in the studio, its a joke! Next time you might be telling me Greg James is live mixing the Dance Anthems....(he doesn't)
  3. Thanks for sharing that. The Newsbeat clips on the archive when Michael Jackson died are very professional as well.
  4. This is why I really like it when they employ DJs such as Greg. So much more quality and drive for radio rather than a youtuber or someone from CBBC. Its just embarrassing that thats what Radio 1 is turning into now.
  5. There have always been 3 producers on Breakfast (4 if you include LMC as the "Social Producer"!!). With Ian and Matt going in quick succession that left it at 2 for a while with Vic in, so I imagine Chris Sawyer will be doing the Day Producer role like Ian used to do, where they come in at 8am and must work until later in afternoon to sort stuff out after the others go home. The new AP for Scotts show is Roushan. He has been a team assistant and in particular on Scott's show for a while I think, and he is funny, especially his twitter. So I think he is a great addition.
  6. Pippa is off to produce the dance shows. I seem to remember that Dance is her passion anyway. I am not sure about where Travis is going. I think they have just had a huge reshuffle of producers. I guess from time to time its necessary to shake things up a bit.
  7. Hi Mike I will private message you a link to my public dropbox. As much as I am not really a fan of Fearne, it was a great last show. Harry
  8. And thats half of the problem, they are trying to attract an age range who don't generally listen to Radio to begin with. Its tricky. Everyone slates Nick though, and he's doing a good job of it. They only ever publicise the Breakfast show when in fact Radio 1 is down to its lowest audience ever, so naturally the Breakfast shows audience will be decreased. Its not like his audience is down and all other shows remain the same.
  9. Is Laura coming back to produce Greg James again or has Pippa taken over full time?
  10. Oh sh*t! Have we just rumbled you as a Newsbeat producer?!
  11. Bias towards Cameron or against him? I would say it was against him, meaning not in David Cameron's favour. Would you agree? I actually thought Chris Smith look possessed!
  12. Now I am a big Chris Smith fan but I did think he overstepped the mark with David Cameron. I felt it tipped over the edge into being quite disrespectful and tasteless. I know they want to hype the crowd and have a fierce debate but it actually dissented into rudeness. I think the audience were obviously ratted up by Newsbeat prior to the debate to be quite on the offensive, but the way they answered back the MPs and gave flippant responses was a bit immature.
  13. The best way to have done this was get (free) tickets to the now decommissioned Lols Lounge Comedy Night with Phil and Alice. Get to go up in the Lifts in the huge atrium and right into the Live Lounge. I even got to have a sneak peek into the studios as well, thanks to Phil and Alice's kind Assistant Producer. So if I were you I would look out for free ticketed events they do at Radio 1. They are found on the BBC Audiences website.
  14. It seems odd that they might want to promote her. I assumed she was just coming back to cover for the female presenters but unfortunately she did mention a new show....
  15. It must have been embargoed until Sunday and they released it bang on midnight. I think it was slightly odd and a bit of a shame that Zane didn't reveal it himself on his show tomorrow though.

Try at 2:27 for getting the full conversation on Ian leaving. I think there is only one producer and one AP for weekend shows, so Aled will be leaving Alice as he is now a (much deserved) Editor, which I believe is the new title for Exec Producer. So with Ian is being promoted to Producer from an AP, I dont believe Aled and Ian will be doing it alongside each other...
  17. I actually think Alice is very popular with listeners. I actually really like it if she's covering for Fearne. And I try to listen to her weekend show. She is naturally very witty, for example with Greg James at the Brits.
  18. Agreed. ...though I did just listen back and she said something along the lines of a new show announcement and that she couldn't speak about then, it was all to be revealed. God I hope its not on Radio 1.
  19. Does anyone have the ones from cira 09/10 which basically sounded like "BBC RA-DI-OH ONE!" ...very hard to type how it sounded! Thanks in advance...
  20. I could just be being incredibly cynical here, but might just put my head above the trenches and put it out there....it all seems like an axing to me. Like Tom Deacon (WHOOOOOOOO) who finished his show to become a "super sub". They have put a lot of emphasis on her scare and travelling, so more then likely she did quit, but they do like to sugar coat a press release. I did get the impression she wasn't too happy in that slot and couldn't really see her going anywhere else on schedule. ...*runs and hides*
  21. Yeah, but Annie is a step above the rest. If anything I am delighted she's getting more daytime cover work!
  22. Hmmm....nope....still dont really like her! Wish her well though.
