Just feel like could’ve just say they would invest in expanding the local content as I think doing a radio show or a news programme if it is done the same as it is in London with no visible content differences what’s the point. Should’ve said they invest in more local news and regional reporting. e.g extending frequency of regional politics programmes and news and current affairs in different regions maybe having wales north England midlands and south England regional breakfast shows on televison extended news programming and promoting what is happening in your county at top of the webpage Think to include more investment in maybe delivering that actually committing to reporting what’s happening at town council level and possibly having different regional news bulletins based on city across radio 1, radio2 and commitments to play more music artists from around U.K. from beyond London across all bbc stations. Think with BBC Three not many young people were calling it to come back on television the reason bbc three budgets got cut stopped showing third party shows and movies and repeats that the old bbc three did think cutting a terrestrial service like BBC Four to archive is a misjudgement for a PSB as where as bbc three is accessed by a generation that uses its VOD service and access similar content on other streaming services All 4, Netflix, Amazon, Next Up comedy etc. For watchers of BBC Four depend on television far more than the young people and proof it’s not about the ratings as a state broadcaster that’s funded as uniquely as it is should focus on commissioning the arts culture documentaries and news and current affairs stuff that isn’t being fulfilled by the commercial sector

Yes feel like if it is better for the presenter to present from Manchester or other regional sites that’s good but think listeners if want less London centric just ensure that there’s more presenters or conversational points that aren’t from the London bubble presenting. Yes Vick and Katie are good, both deserve a promo when time comes. BBC three to me shouldn’t be bout chasing audiences when had ability to use prime time slots on BBC One and Two don’t know many my age of 20 who rely on telly schedules and live broadcasting. It seems wrong decision when the cost is to make bbc four an archive channel issue will be that viewers would drift of and seen as something that those who grew up with it in the mid and late 00s older millennials are ones which will benefit the most who already watch One and Two. Grimshaw gone but argueably could see them all gone as think Greg would want to move on from breakfast and think could naturally transition to radio 2 for the odd bit of relief here and there every now and then as would be then his twenty something year on air if there in five years time think could stay doing breakfast for another two years could see him also if with his radio career bringing in numbers for the station and show sounding commercial as his pay is published could get commercial offer. Scott could end up on Radio 2 in the next few years possibly and hopefully joined by Chris as see possibly Virgin or Greatest Hits nabbing another one or two in coming years. Clara don’t know tbh would eventually see her few more years odd cover maybe on Annie Mac still to come (maybe) think Clara would be good at covering or the next for Jo Whiley’s Radio 2 show. See Grimshaw maybe one or two years his interest in music is varied but think him and Annie would sound surprisingly good as a future duo on six music in a few years tho with BBC Three and ITV Two and Sky doing more original entertainment show formats I could see him potentially after leaving radio 1 the odd bit of freelance radio on and then do bit of tv presenting and appearances. but Jack Saunders can’t be far off from a promotion. Tho think one day like Scott Mills and Chris Stark do Jordan if got a better deal else where still at Radio 1 but could do bit of 5Live as think could be good as the odd cover presenter or doing Fighting Talk or doing some sporting podcast and broadcast

Think moving bits out of London not move cuts as costs as it costs a lot to move things out about levelling up when upping the license fee it’s a waste of money that doesn’t change the overall product as a waste as reopening BBC three as a live channel. BBC doesn’t know what doing and frankly any move will play into a the hands of those who want to defund the service. Should’ve invested in local news and local radio and journalism as this will knowingly see some presenters move out of the BBC

I would put him on an a a 10 midnight slot before Scott or Greg leave or maybe scale down with other presenting work think it would be good to hear him doing some more late night humour with incorporating some comedy and entertainment and like pub chat so prep work for maybe him doing breakfast maybe with a cohost. Could honestly see Radio X snapping him up as would be good at presenting as would be good banter as think would be good with bringing more of his humour and think if had a non daytime slot think he’d atleast be able to do things in prep that would be hard to do in daytime like think it helped Nick Grimshaw and Colin Murray being in that later slot first

Yes agree with Greg I do think that his time on station maybe up soon and is a nice enough person but not as strong a broadcaster and feel like is kind of too corny and cheesy. I don’t think that it is struggling as a breakfast show as cheesy in away like Roman Kemp one too many unpopular opinions. For Scott’s afternoon show feel the timings bit annoying kind of think granny tinder has run it’s course. But think needs to maybe switch one of the features around on the show as needed every few months. I lthink Annie is quiet suited for it but I do agree with what you saying Jack has more passion I would personally move the Future Sounds earlier in the day. however think could happily see her doing some presenting over on 6 Music now her career is going on the way of podcasting and book writing and touring. So by end of year or next year it wouldn’t be surprising if said after seven years want to leave the show. Think if as some say about Clara Amfo did Evenings I would have that doing covering more Live Music and some events in pop culture doing more big interviews and maybe more coverage of festivals in that slot. if Greg had the same drive team on production fro breakfast and with Chris Smith joining him it would’ve sounded different

I think it would be better feed than the dance one would be good if chuck in few radio 3 shows if they do such a feed like Celeste and Jorja Smith Unclassifed with Elizabeth Alkar and morning after mixes on 6 Music. Think would be better if the Dance feed did Chuck on dance music from other feed or rebranded it to either Party, Club or simply Anthems so it isn’t just repeats of R1Dance playlist

I think the ting with anthems would be good if did the theme playlists they do whether Pop, rap and rnb or decade specific anthems in those slots make it more the mic like would be good if could get like on April 12 Pub garden Athens or Chillout anthems on Sunday morning or like wouldve been good on Goode like this weekend being Scott Mills birthday Scott Mills faviorute anthems of bangers choices like when did the themed summer mixes may make things a bit more interesting for the listeners. Agree Greg was better in the afternoon I think breakfast needed to be less intense in sound and a bit more relaxed find he’s done it far too corny and cringey that when was in sixth form started to tune out from it as it sounded unbareable to listen to. Think what I liked more is if was more when guests come on was more of an interview and bits of entertainment news may play some new tracks that dropped and also go back to the times of doing big interviews when pop stars drop a big track on a Friday and talk on more entertainment stories. I think with Grimmy think actually in reflections didn’t appreciate it as much but on reflection was a better breakfast presenter than Greg but do find Breakfast interns of the way content is orentated is a kind of a difficult one to manage due to pressure and getting the tone right liked Greg at first on breakfast found got bored of stuff like un popular opinions and some of the ask the nation stuff snd feel like it’s more something that is a breakfast that doesn’t as much as Grimmy did appeal or seem as in touch with the teenage audience. Think it would be better if it was more guest based but think enjoyed some of features Grim used to do with Nixtape and Call or Delete and entertainment news. Think if look at previous comments feel like have some unpopular opinions on here. I think Greg would’ve been better maybe with a cohost as he seemed like would’ve been good presenting with Dotty and feel that interms of on air presenters do think the station needs to bring across some from one Xtra as when you think the playlist is incorporating a lot of rap stuff like that and would be good to have the presenters know the scene and to actually represent the sound of young Britain after all I think if Aled is to do a reshuffle there maybe pressure to actually include more voices from all Corners of the United Kingdom in daytime and peak slots

I think the station may need to become more diverse and offer something more unique I do feel that the 2-5 slot needs to be re thought and actually I would scrap the Radio Dance stream and find the station has become to passive interms of content

I’d think I’d be as controversial and go quite radical on a reshape and rejig of the programming to appeal better to under 30s and Generation Z. Do wonder how long Grim, Greg and possibly Rickie Melvin got left. Found it was quite odd to bring them over from Kiss breakfast to do an Evening slot. Think glad that Cels gone but could see maybe some point by January 2022 or mid year another rejig I mean possibly if few more Radio 2 presenters get pouched for Greatest Hits Radio and Virgin Radio could see possibly Scott move over to radio 2. I think it will be the case that yes understand why some people may want Jordan North possibly be put into a drive or daytime slot with the possibility if they put it of for few years could be offered something like Radio X or Heart. But feel that there is definately need of probably shuffle in next few years as pressure may come from head up. I suppose it must be interesting Aled in his role as he doesn’t have the same power or authority Ben Cooper has now there’s a head of pop radio and seperate radio 1 Xtra controllers

Think Dev was always better with Alice and don’t think as strong on his own think they could’ve given a Phil Taggart a better slot and show know he said he found the chillest show worked better in 10pm to 1pm for me felt the same as it’s as listeners get ready for bed for the new week. Huw Stephens in my opinion deserves a full time slot on six music he definatley fits 6M and does good with covering

devs built a good audience and had a sound that would fit in with commercial radio and he is very flexible as he spas the main super primary cover before Jordan I’d think he would’ve been good on Capital Xtra Reloaded as well

Yes it seems lies would be a current song that would fit in with Capital Dance but something Heart possibly Heart Dance would spin and sure still heavily iTunes based. I wonder how many people still keep up proactively to know what the number one is and really listen to charts for it when stuff like chart data tends to be the stuff you see on your Apple or Spotify charts

Darren Darren totally disn she’s good I like the experimental electronic and alternative rnb she plays would be good to hear a varying sounds from Blessed,Craig,Jamz,Gilles on Saturdays disappointed that Nemone has been dropped I’m also suprised they haven’t tried to get Benji B over from Radio 1 to do a show or do cover since his music fits the station.

Its not making them less popular about delivering public service broadcasting that’s not too commercial snd sounding similar for their rivals which I know the private sector struggle because of it interms of where radio 2 is going there is definatley a growing overlap of dance snd pop overlap playing Miles Cyrus, Little Mix, Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris etc. And feel it has become at a loss for its former older listeners and both stations are definately not neccarily growing their audience so don’t think that this comment about being least effective and more unpopular if a public service broadcaster the BBC is focus on more of what a public service broadcast is it would seem to be able to justify itself more to their audience. After all it needs to take risks as people feel it’s becoming bit bland. like felt with reopening BBC three to a Generation Z, Zillenial young audience on terrestrial televison showed a mark of the corporation moving backwards not forward

Yes think it’s most listened to but the Global network may try to make claim because of syndication between heart and capital heavens had radar data for a while but its likely some stations may blag statements I remember they also say where it’s live and real-time

I think biggest or the nations top 40 is more likely can’t imagine more songs or the longest chart would stick with listeners

I think there are quite a few people beyond the bubble of the blog feel that Radio 2 does sound commercial sounding has started to appeal to a younger audience of targeting the station more to those who are under 50. Think in terms of stations playlist and choice of radio cover on radio 2 with people like Joe Lycett, Alan Carr etc it is more commercial than just appealing especially think how shows like Trevor Nelsons more recent plays list and some of the playlist on other stations in comparison. I feel that there’s a thing of potentially some who may be hardcore fans of the stations be overly defensive when can see certain struggles and challenges that are arising.

I think it’s tough time to justify it I don’t see how making it mainstream and commercialised it’s doing that I think like what has seen with Radio 2 of late the station over there is loosing touch with its current demographic. I think the BBC is currently struggling don’t see how making it like their rivals helps. Just feel like the station in terms of voices and diversity on the station it needs to provide a better service that reflects what Zillenials and Generation Z want from a public service broadcaster at a time when the broadcaster isn’t justifying itself clearly to the public. When you think with salaried being published, new stations opening, new rules around working locations snd what the corporation would want the presenters use their platform for is a hard task. Personally think I’d end up putting Jordan Notth in a later night slot to trial bringing something of what Phil snd Alice, Nick Grimshaw and Colin Murray did in a late time slot to maybe warm up for doing breakfast or Scott Mills’ slot. Just feeling that radio one is now directed to a person more and more in their mid thirties when Radio 2 uniquely is closing in on that gap. Feel the point to having a public service broadcaster interms of entertainment needs to be smaller than what it is to make it more cost effective and shouldn’t be about chasing the ratings should lead that to private sector commercial radio it’s primary service should be public service broadcasting
