I'm not sure quite why everyone hates him so much - weird. Moyles is proven to be homophobic, arguably racist too - and definetly sexist - and yet it's Nick that gets all the stick! I wish Matt Fincham would return. The show was much much better with him. They also need some new features - they have basically none from 6:30-8am

This is so true. You only realise how good Newsbeat actually is when you listen to any other radio station - something I've noticed for a long time. The Newsbeat offices are allllways busy.

Hiya Hannah, And welcome to UnofficialMills! Honestly, Chris has only recently made an impression on me, albeit a lasting one. I was listening when he tried to take over Smooth Radio. Honestly, their music choices aren't for me and with the ADDition (get it...?) of adverts, AND then having to install an app to listen - I've tried retuning my telly - and then for the app to freeze and send notifications left, right and centre.... it's all just a bit messy for me.

Steve, Not sure exactly what you're trying to say here - perhaps you should clarify a little, the random photo and interview is somewhat baffling - but it seems sexist and objectifying - a woman who presents / has presented a show on BBC Radio 1, and a man who presents a show on BBC Radio 1 should be like a blank canvas - equal. Describing a woman as a "ballbuster" is not the kind of thing you should really be doing - specifically on this forum, anyway. Welcome to the forum, by the way.

It's pretty obvious Fiona Hanlon, Radio 1 Breakfast Assistant Producer, was not on the decks mixing it It's just an excuse for the DJs to sit around doing what can only be described as a very short shift! Most of the mixes are shoddy, and, may I say on this thread, absolute shite. Mixing breathy rock music over Jess Glynne is not the way to mix some tracks, even I know that...

They do seem to be getting rid of the stuff that made Radio 1, Radio 1. Take Access All Areas for example, and now "Live Lounge Month". It's hard to roll of the tongue, and none of the other presenters have even mentioned it, aside from Clara.

It's pre-recorded, and every 15 minutes there's usually the bed from the following track that presenters can talk over. It is incredibly lazy programming, but it's one of the most downloaded things on BBC iPlayer Radio, so there's obviously a market for it. I look forward to the summer mixes ending - anyone know when they do? The extra hour from Grimmy & Greg will be savoured.

I agree. Why bother fixing something that's not even barely broken? This is perhaps why people question the License Fee. I bet it cost an arm and a leg, and they're not even any good for local radio. Bring back the days of Emergency Production Music!

Yeah, they're on the first Monday of each month from 9-10pm. Hardly a regular slot, but it's a slot.
