  1. I know that, and sometimes they do make me laugh, but it's the style of the feature... the listener suggested ones are handled badly. Not quite sure how to word what's wrong with his delivery of the puns. Maybe it's the fact his voice sounds genuinely pleased with suggesting them.
  2. I think the swap has improved both shows. Scott has lost the quantity of (weak, chavvy) guests that he used to get, which has been so good for the show as a whole. Greg's getting a bit more mental, which is good, like the Clare Balding thing, and being rude to people, however the older feet-up friday was better, and the puns are not funny.
  3. Chris has two producers at the moment, and an exec, so Beccy could quite feasibly be going... I was thinking last night that Radio 1 might go through quite a few breakfast presenters quickly, 'to keep it fresh' until they find someone who stands out, and then they'll keep them. Several changes would also further distance it from Moyles. As a side note: The breakfast show with... sounds VERY heart esque. VOMITS.
  4. ANOTHER quick point... does anyone think Beccy could be producing the breakfast show? She seems to be getting quite pally with Grimmy at the moment...
  5. Also I have a feeling reducing sung jingles makes it cheaper...
  6. 15 year olds aren't counted in RAJAR figures, so the likelihood is, Moyles has a much larger audience than the figures suggest. And I totally agree with you about radio 2. Their remit starts at 30 years old, yet they have whole shows without playing a song since 1982. It's radio 2 who should be being looked at, not radio 1...
  7. OR the older listeners all leave, and he's left with an audience of 2mil... Aim at 15 year olds, and you get no new listeners at all, because they don't count.
  8. I too really like Grimmy, but I doubt the show will sound confident... he fluffed two jingles tonight in less than 15 minutes, struggled with a CD player, and had to read a song title of a cd sleeve, when he'd just been talking about it...
  9. Exactly. Why have a dedicated channel for Xtra RnB Xtra Hip Hop Xtra Westwood Xtra Chavs and Xtra Yodelling, and then have it all on radio one too....
  10. Hopefully it won't make it to 11.
  11. Stooshe, sTOOshite. HA! They're bloody awful. I really really can not stand them. The shoutiness, the chaviness, the crap singingness. (Some of those words aren't real. Have a guess which. [Answer - the] )
  12. Yeah. He's fantastic, but not the sound the station want anymore - they've made that very clear with Grimmy. I imagine they'll begin to bin off/ put on at nights/ weekend only the non-music focused presenters as the contracts run out, so I imagine Scott, Sara, and even Greg may be casualties soon(ish). Fearne is being pushed as some sort of New Music Angel in her promo at the moment. "Alright Treacle" would have been better. Or even "It's only my bley Autobiography". I do think the choice has something in it...
  13. I know it's a (recent) catchphrase, but does anyone think the title sounds a bit like a resignation is coming? And his filming with Chris and Sara sounds rather like a best bits montage.
  14. Burkina Faso or Mauritania. Or Chatham. (I wish Chatham wasn't in the UK)
  15. OOOOH Laura Whitmore could cover. (I thought I'd get that in, before some other tit does) It'll probably be the vacuous Gemma Cairney, but I'd hope for Sara Cox. - In all seriousness though, congratulations to Fearne.
  16. Could Tulip make a return? Doubt it'll be Dom as he's freelance... too expensive. I think the two presenters thing is to distinguish between the actual news, and the sport - which definitely doesn't need to be told every half hour.
  17. They REALLY don't want a zoo format, do they? Grimmy quite often talks to others in the studio, so this could end up like him sounding lonely/ lost on air...
  18. Has anyone else noticed Chris is making a lot more mistakes with jingles etc. recently? It seems odd for such a radio perfectionist to start making them, unless he is really tired / ill / just not bothered about the show anymore...
  19. Crazy maths... and he could sleep during the day like Dev etc... Annnyway, my point is: with a few weeks left, why Vernon?
  20. That'll teach you for keeping half your fridge stocked with tins of dog food 'in case of emergencies'...
  21. He's still doing his afternoon slot... could just as easily done the morning...
  22. I don't get why they've used Vernon, can't stand him... I suppose the arguments are that: Scott - just been moved away from a bigger show, so not 'good enough' Greg - just missed out on the breakfast show Grimmy - don't want to debut him too early
  23. Brilliant topic Viv. He confirms it's one of two dates... Not much of a confirmation...
  24. Why don't they look at the other half of the problem: the BBC have no programmes for the 30 y/os listening to R1. R2 with their 60s 1/24 is clearly wrong for attracting a 31 y/o...
