  1. Nope. When the INMWT Shows first moved to 9-10pm they had the 1xtra takeover on a saturday, then Annie did a show in between dance anthems and the surgery. It didnt last very long, maybe 6 weeks/2 months, and it was just before the whole switch thing started.
  2. At the end of the day, the BBC is such a huge media outlet that any coverage will be deemed too much by some people, if you think about it, if it's the lead story of the day, its gonna be all over the news channel, it's going to be the lead story on the bbc news at 1, 3, 6 and 10pm news on bbc one, also on BBC 2, The 60 seconds news on BBC 3 will cover it too. Then move on to the radio stations Radio 1, 2, 4, 5, 6music, asian network and world service will at least mention it, and then you have the bbc local stations. Any major news story is going to be talked about by all the departments within the bbc, whether it be radio, tv or online. Plus, with something on this scale, he was an international megastar, everyone knew who he was, everyone could recognise his music. He was certainly a unique individual, and one who was loved by millions all around the world. Sometimes purely due to the size of the BBC, people are too quick to say that it's excessive coverage - When in fact it's just a broadcaster reporting the news, just as Sky news did, Just as Channel 4 did, they just aren't as big as the bbc. Anyway, i thought the memorial service for MJ Was very good considering the speed of which they put it together. I've gotta admit though, i did feel slightly uncomfortable when Usher went up to the coffin, it just wasn't right, but each to their own and all that, i did kinda feel for him when he choked up towards the end though. I was just about holding it together when they did the final performance when everyone was on stage, and then when his brother and paris were up on stage... well, you know. I don't think that it actually sunk in until the memorial that he had actually died to be honest. The news broke that he had been rushed to hospital 30 minutes before i was due to do a radio show, and then the unconfirmed reports came through on twitter that he had died, and it was all a bit wierd really, i went on the phone to the prsenter before mine's show (Scott) and we were talking about him and his music etc. It was really hard to do a show while all the reports were coming in that he died, it all seemed really surreal, like it wasn't really happening or something, i dunno, it's hard to explain. But it was a really tough situation to be in none the less, i kept scott on the phone and we spent the hour talking about his life and his music. It wasn't perfect but from what people said afterwards it was ok, which was a relief. But even in the week following his death, it just didn't seem real, even though programs were all over the tv about his life and stuff. It's been a really odd few weeks.
  3. Not always during the day, i watched one tree hill on there when it was on during the afternoon, and it was the same voiceover every few days. Same when Gilmore Girls was on too.
  4. Switch & especially Nick Grimshaw. Before switch started, Annie did a show which was actually really good, she talked about tv stuff, stuff thats on the internet and things like that. used to enjoy listening to that after dance anthems. the surgery is ok nowadays, but i feel it's more concentrating on the switch audience rather than anyone who listens to radio 1. Radio 1 have killed sunday nights.
  5. Well apart from 7 or 8 new entries, a few going up and quite a few going down, i'd say it will be the same. I don't think MJ will make it to number 1 though sadly.
  6. 2 weeks til my 18th Birthday And it's 2 weeks and 4 days until i go back to Newbury again Yay!
  7. Yeah, we all want her to try breakfast again when moyles goes, cos he is proper awful...
  8. She probably recorded the show earlier in the week, and couldn't re-record it, therefore they need to cover it. MORE SARA COX PLS, SHE IZ AWESUM!!!!!!!!!!11111ONE1111111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  9. I agree, i played Blame it on the boogie to finish my show last night.
  10. You liked Kelly Osbourne though. That says enough. I said this the other day, i wish the beeb would stop trying to please everyone, it ain't gonna happen, ever.
  11. You're never gonna please everyone - I wish people would stop trying to.
  12. Monday to thursday on Asian Network, Tuesday nights on Radio 1, weekend show
  13. Helloooooooo Sunshine!!! That is all.
  14. ESPN have bought the rights to next seasons fixtures, to be retailed though Sky
  15. Why? Just sounds a bit too girly for me. If people start raving about it then i might get a copy.
  16. Oh right. Don't think i'll be buying it, but fair enough.
  17. Slight tangent, but does anyone here remember the parody that Colin & Edith did of Eamon and Frankee?
  18. Is Jo actually writing a book?? Just seems a bit wierd to me, she doesn't strike me as the type who would write a book about themselves.

    Big Brother 2009

Makes me laugh how Davina says it's the best one yet... EVERY year. I've been watching it. I think the right person went last night, and he was really odd in the interviews, you could tell he was actually gutted to be leaving. Marcus is annoying me at the moment. The way he speaks to people is awful, and the way he was describing Sree and the way he was talking to him was so patronising and arrogant. BB needs something interesting to happen, that they haven't done before. The thing is, there are only so many things you can do with 15 people in a house. I really think this year should be the last.
  20. I think that's to make the change over between male voiceovers more subtle. Just heard Jody on one of Nihals beds.
  21. I love the original, and i love this version too. It's an awesome track to just sit back and chill out to.
