Radio 1 Weekend Breakfast host Emil Franchi built much of Saturday's show around a viral TikTok clip of an easyJet flight attendant repeatedly telling passengers to "Rise", encouraging listeners to send in their own "Rise" energy throughout the morning.
Franchi also continued a "low level villainy" bit started earlier in the week with Katie Thistleton on Going Home, playing clips of prank calls made to Greg James and to his own mother, and inviting listeners to suggest further mischief to try on Thistleton, including reading song lyrics down the phone as if in normal conversation.
The regular Weekend Breakfast Bingo returned with a new set of categories – cold drinks, slippers, travelling to sport or music events, and photos of the "harvest moon" or a sunset – with listeners including one who runs a football match and photographed a sunset getting a "full house". The show's "who shall we back this weekend" feature saw listeners vote for the World Championship Herdwick Sheep competition at Eskdale Show in Cumbria, ahead of Driffield Women's Rugby and an aerial fitness team.
Elsewhere, Franchi discussed cat-sitting over the week, and leaned into presenter Greg James mistakenly calling him "Emile Frenchy" on air, asking listeners to "French up" their messages for the rest of the show.
Newsbeat bulletins covered Manchester City being found guilty of most charges in their Premier League financial rules case, with the club expected to appeal, alongside TikTok's $75m Alabama settlement and Northern Ireland's late Nations League win over Georgia.
