Vicky and Charley devoted much of Saturday's Group Chat to Freshers' Week, inviting listeners to share their most embarrassing university moments as students up and down the country settle into halls.
Vicky kicked things off with her own confession, revealing a Freshers' night t-shirt she'd found while clearing out her old bedroom, complete with boxes for "accommodation" and "relationship status" that she'd filled in as "sticky Vicky" and, most cringeworthy of all, "in a relationship with pizza."
Listeners' messages poured in throughout the show. Holly got in touch to say she ended up in A&E for seven hours after cutting her finger while cooking with a mandolin during her first week. Another listener described bonding with a flatmate by holding her hair back over the bathroom floor – the pair are still friends three years on. A caller named Alex, now in her fourth year at Glasgow, recalled locking herself out of her room at 1am and having to borrow a stranger's crocs to get back in – though she and that flatmate later fell out.
Elsewhere on the show, the pair played their regular "Algorithm" game with a caller named Joe, guessing tracks based on his recent social media posts, eventually settling on Peggy Gou. New music featured from Mila Jones, Freya Sky, Fat Dog and Taylor Swift's "Patient Zero," named tune of the weekend.
Vicky and Charley return tomorrow from 10:30, with Sam and Dunny taking over next, followed by Charlie Hedges' Dance Anthems at 4pm.
