2 February 2022: Chris’s chub rub led to nipple daisies before a hundreds-of-miles hook-up disaster

Chris’s running plan had an immediate problem

Chris had started running with the distant ambition of doing a marathon.

The fitness was not yet the biggest issue.

His thighs were rubbing so badly that he was struggling to walk normally afterwards.

He showed Scott and the team the damage and asked for practical advice.

Scott recommended tight cycling shorts underneath ordinary shorts to stop the skin-on-skin friction.

Listeners suggested anti-chafing products and pointed out that chefs could suffer a similar problem after spending entire shifts moving around hot kitchens.

Scott introduced nipple daisies to the conversation

Scott had his own anti-rubbing solution from a previous period of running.

He had bought little adhesive “nipple daisies” after discovering that sweaty running tops could rub painfully against his chest.

They had later found a second use.

Scott admitted he sometimes wore them on nights out under certain tops because they stopped his nipples showing through the fabric.

Chris was astonished to discover he had apparently been out socially with Scott while the daisies were in use.

Hook-up Higher or Lower began with a dead budgie

The mileage game started with Darren, whose romantic trip ended after he accidentally let a cat into a room containing his date’s budgies.

The relationship did not continue.

The game then moved on to Dan, who had travelled from London after chatting to somebody from home on a dating app.

He was stood up at the bar and blocked, then discovered his ex-boyfriend was there with a new partner.

The awkwardness continued from there.

Sarah travelled hundreds of miles for someone who was not single

The largest distance came from Sarah.

She flew to Edinburgh after receiving messages from a man she had previously been seeing.

She believed the invitation meant there was still something between them.

When she reached his home, he told her to leave.

There was a reason.

He had a girlfriend Sarah knew nothing about.

As she walked away, she could hear the resulting argument inside.

The fact Sarah later moved to Scotland meant she still occasionally encountered him.

The day’s hook-up stories had clocked up 943 miles between them.

Can You Milk It? answered the questions nobody had asked

The quiz introduced Can You Milk It?.

Milk sharks could not actually be milked despite the name.

Platypuses could, in the biological sense: they secrete milk through specialised mammary glands rather than conventional nipples.

Yaks could also be milked, something Chris already knew because his dog had a hard chew made from yak milk.

Scott ended the afternoon having learned about mammals, Chris’s thighs and a surprisingly expensive Scottish non-hook-up.
