A beauty therapist settled the fart etiquette
The previous day’s massage discussion had left Scott and Chris with unresolved questions.
How often do therapists deal with bodily mishaps?
Should the customer apologise?
Beauty therapist Zoe supplied professional evidence.
She had been farted on around five times during her career.
Some treatments made the possibility more likely than others.
Intimate waxing could place therapist and customer in exactly the wrong positions for dignity.
Zoe’s rule was simple.
If everybody clearly heard it, an apology was appreciated.
If the noise was genuinely unnoticed, perhaps continuing as though nothing happened was easier for everyone.
Scott therefore maintained that his seaside fart probably required no apology because the waves had covered it.
Chris’s drool on a foot was harder to deny.
Cardi B reopened the toe-sucking debate
A lyric involving “pretty little pink toes” being put in somebody’s mouth launched another highly specific conversation.
Was toe sucking sexy?
Scott and Chris were less interested in giving a universal answer than in hearing from people who had actually tried it.
That invitation would produce one of the next day’s strongest stories.
Emma and Josh arrived for Brother or Lover
Emma worked in womenswear design.
Josh worked in community development and was training for a marathon.
The team had to determine whether they were siblings or a couple.
The clues were carefully ambiguous.
They had travelled together, including trips to Munich’s Christmas market and Edinburgh.
Emma tended to watch *Love Island* when Josh was not around.
Josh played golf.
The inevitable ball joke followed.
Then Emma gave the clue which made everything much more confusing.
She said Josh had “a pretty good body.”
Half the team found the compliment too intimate
Scott and producer Amy interpreted the dynamic as sibling-like.
Chris, Travis and Layla leaned towards lovers.
The body compliment sounded romantic to some of them.
The travelling could fit either relationship.
The easy familiarity could fit either relationship.
That was the whole game.
The reveal:
brother.
Emma and Josh were siblings.
They said strangers sometimes assumed they were a couple when they were out together.
The game had managed to reproduce exactly the confusion they already experienced in real life.
Archive favourites returned
The programme also revisited old show material, including Superfan Steve.
The feature’s basic trick remained wonderful.
Chris secretly receives detailed answers and pretends to be an astonishingly knowledgeable fan while the celebrity tries to understand how one stranger knows so much about them.
The archive replay was a reminder that some of Scott and Chris’s best ideas depended on a tiny lie being sustained for just long enough.
