25 February 2021: Scott crawled across the bedroom floor for clean pants while his boyfriend’s Zoom watched everything

Scott only wanted a clean pair of pants

Scott returned from a morning walk and needed clothes before going into Radio 1.

His underwear drawer was in a room where his boyfriend was already on an important work Zoom.

Scott walked in.

His boyfriend muted himself and told him:

not now.

Scott still needed the pants.

So, for reasons even he could not fully explain, he dropped to the floor.

The plan was to crawl towards the drawer below the camera’s field of view like somebody in an SAS operation.

The people on Zoom could absolutely still see him

Halfway across the bedroom, Scott’s boyfriend muted the call again.

They can still see you.

Scott froze.

He was already lying face down on the carpet.

The only possible response was to reverse.

So the people on the call watched Scott Mills crawl backwards out of the room without ever obtaining the underwear he had gone in for.

Scott later apologised by name to the colleagues who had witnessed it.

He ended up wearing the same pants as the previous day.

The working-from-home low point was complete.

Sammy’s date story went considerably further

It Was All Going Well Until… returned with Sammy.

She had been staying at an ex-boyfriend’s family home when she used the toilet.

It would not flush.

Sammy panicked at the idea of the entire family discovering what she had left behind.

Her solution was extraordinary.

She removed the poo using toilet paper.

Then threw it over the fence.

The fence did not lead where Sammy thought it did

Sammy believed the poo had landed in an empty field.

Her boyfriend informed her it was actually the neighbour’s orchard.

Worse, the neighbours were around.

The couple then went out in the middle of the night carrying phone torches and Tesco bags, searching the garden for the missing poo.

Scott and Chris were horrified.

Sammy admitted it was not one of her proudest moments.

The boyfriend was now an ex.

Scott wondered whether the orchard incident had contributed.

It had not exactly helped.

Teddy had created Scott’s own poo dilemma

Scott could not judge Sammy too harshly.

His puppy Teddy had recently done a poo during a walk when no bin was nearby.

Scott picked it up responsibly in a bag.

Then realised Teddy wanted to keep moving and Scott needed his hands.

So he put the bag in his pocket until he found a bin.

Listeners immediately told him this was not unusual.

It was still not a sentence Scott had expected to say on Radio 1.

A screenshot exposed another romance

Another caller’s relationship ended when a man sent her a screenshot of their WhatsApp conversation.

At the exact moment he captured the screen, a preview of a message from another woman appeared at the top.

The wording made clear there was romantic or sexual interest elsewhere.

He sent the incriminating screenshot without noticing.

Scott and Chris called it one of the worst possible examples of technology exposing somebody at exactly the wrong moment.

Bangers went unusually chilled

The programme also experimented with a calmer version of Bangers, while the quiz included more bizarre Danny Howard merchandise.

After Zoom crawling and a neighbour’s orchard, even a normal music feature felt unusually civilised.
