Scott celebrated Left Handers Day late
Scott discovered that the previous day had been Left Handers Day.
Radio 1 had completely failed to celebrate it.
He made up for that by going home and doing what he considered the defining left-handed activity: writing something and immediately smudging the ink.
Scott began listing famous left-handers, including Justin Bieber and Prince William, and joked that one day they would rise up and turn the day into a proper national holiday.
Chris complicated the discussion by saying he used different hands for different tasks.
Scott had no patience for this.
He wanted people to choose a side.
The conversation eventually became “left for pleasure, right for business”, a phrase which immediately sounded less innocent than the original discussion about handwriting.
Scott’s entertainment news was already dying
The temporary Breakfast Show meant Scott was still trying to provide entertainment news.
Chris continued to tell him it was bad.
Scott discussed *Celebrity Big Brother*, *Love Island Australia*, former contestants and celebrity relationships.
The more stories he read, the more Chris questioned whether any of them needed to be reported.
Scott eventually accepted that entertainment news might not be his strongest new career direction.
Who is the hot person from that advert?
Listeners then nominated people they regularly saw on television adverts or billboards without necessarily knowing their names.
One caller wanted to identify the man from the Gladstone Brookes advert.
Radio 1 found him.
He was actor Dan Richardson.
The caller was delighted to discover he had an online presence she could actually follow and became even more impressed when she learned he was involved with animal conservation.
Scott liked the feature because these people could be extremely familiar faces while remaining completely anonymous to most of the public.
Strictly contestant number four arrived as “Feta”
Then Radio 1 received the next Strictly celebrity.
To protect the identity initially, the contestant’s voice was altered and they were referred to only by the 2018 cheese codename: Feta.
Scott and Chris were allowed to ask questions.
They established Feta was male.
He was aged 25 to 35.
He had a famous female relative, although exactly how famous depended on who you asked.
He said he did not have meaningful dance experience.
Listeners guessed everybody from Sam Thompson to Alan Titchmarsh and Samuel L. Jackson.
Eventually the disguise came off.
“Hello, my name is Joe Sugg, and I’m 26 from Wiltshire.”
Joe Sugg was the fourth celebrity confirmed for *Strictly Come Dancing* 2018.
Scott already knew Joe and immediately offered a brutally honest assessment.
He had seen him on nights out.
Joe could not dance.
Joe agreed.
That was exactly why the programme appealed.
He said he was both extremely nervous and extremely excited.
Scott, as a former Strictly contestant himself, reassured him.
Even if he genuinely could not dance at the start, that was the point of going on the show.
