Davina McCall prescribed the magic throat mixture
Scott’s voice had become noticeably croaky, prompting Davina McCall to message him after seeing his Instagram post.
She recommended a particular throat mixture apparently favoured by singers and actors. Scott eventually tracked down the last bottle at a chemist for around £4.
The medicine tasted, in Scott’s assessment, rather like vinegar and other things he would prefer not to drink voluntarily, but he was willing to try almost anything while presenting Breakfast.
Linda agreed to increasingly ridiculous website changes
Scott and Chris decided to test how far Radio 1’s web producer Linda would go when asked to alter Scott’s official presenter photograph.
The first request was to make Scott completely hairless from the neck down.
Linda agreed.
They then suggested adding a miniature Chris into Scott’s hand or pocket.
Linda still seemed open to the idea.
A thought bubble was proposed containing everything from pound signs to swimming trunks, attractive men and repeated cries of “yas”. Linda’s main concern was not whether the ideas were ridiculous, but whether the graphics would remain readable on the website.
Scott and Chris realised they had found somebody dangerously willing to help.
Chris had the body of a 43-year-old
Chris had also undergone one of the gym machines that estimated body composition and metabolic age.
Chronologically he was 30.
The machine gave him a metabolic age of 43 and classified his weight in terms Chris did not particularly enjoy hearing.
Scott remembered taking a similar test years earlier and receiving an even more brutal result, although he said exercise had subsequently improved it.
Jan Slam moved to Wembley
The latest Jan Slam prize offered two tickets to the FA Cup Final, a behind-the-scenes Wembley tour and a pitchside photograph with the FA Cup.
Scott and Chris immediately became more interested in whether the winner might actually be allowed to touch or kiss the trophy than in the conventional tour itself.
