3 January 2018: Amy remembered “Bell” and won Anthony Joshua

Scott became Lil Buffet Bar

A social-media game asked people to create their rap name by combining “Lil” with the first thing they had bought in 2018.

Scott’s answer was not especially glamorous.

His first purchase had been a buffet bar at a motorway service station, making him Lil Buffet Bar.

Chris initially did not even know what Scott meant by a buffet bar, while listeners supplied alternatives including Lil Guinness, Lil Large Doner Kebab and Lil Oyster Top Up for My Mum.

Celebrity Big Brother had already delivered

Scott and Chris had watched the opening night of *Celebrity Big Brother* and were particularly taken by Anne Widdecombe’s reactions to the house.

She appeared unimpressed by much of the décor and behaviour around her, which gave the programme an immediate source of clips even before the house had been fully populated.

Jan Slam callers kept saying hello

The Anthony Joshua prize now had to be awarded.

Entrants had been told that if Radio 1 phoned, they must answer with the word “Bell”.

Several calls ended immediately because people answered with an ordinary “hello”.

Then Amy picked up.

“Bell.”

That single word won her two tickets to Anthony Joshua’s next UK fight and a meeting with him at the official weigh-in.

Scott and Chris were almost as relieved as Amy that somebody had finally remembered the instruction.
