The sausage bar was not a bar
Scott and Chris began with a complaint about the BBC canteen advertising a “sausage bar”.
There was no actual bar involved.
It was simply somewhere serving sausages.
That led to irritation about businesses attaching the word “bar” to ordinary counters and food stations in an attempt to make them sound more exciting.
Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg opened Christmas crackers
Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg came in while promoting Daddy’s Home 2.
Scott and Chris were surprised to discover that the British tradition of pulling Christmas crackers was unfamiliar to them, so naturally they chose some particularly unsuitable X-rated versions as an introduction.
The tiny gifts and strange trivia caused immediate confusion.
Mark opened one containing a miniature water pistol that had already been filled.
He promptly sprayed Will.
Will theatrically reacted as though he had been attacked with something far more dangerous, joked about suing the BBC and continued trying to understand why British families considered crackers an essential part of Christmas dinner.
Questions about pigs in blankets only added to the confusion.
Ghostbusters was still causing second-hand embarrassment
The show also looked back at Roisin’s Ghostbusters call from the previous day.
Scott and Chris remained amazed that the man she had dated had actually answered the phone and calmly explained why he had stopped replying.
The feature had succeeded, but not without giving everyone involved a substantial amount of second-hand embarrassment.
