7 June 2017: Chris hunted for body tape in Spain

Chris returned from Spain

Chris came back after a two-week holiday in Spain, and Scott admitted that he had missed him. Their reunion quickly returned to Love Island, where Marcel continued turning his Blazin’ Squad past into the villa’s least secret secret.

Chris had brought home a story of his own. Just before his girlfriend’s mother boarded a flight, she had asked him to buy body tape for a low-cut wedding dress. The task sounded straightforward until he entered a Spanish supermarket and discovered that he had no useful way to describe the item.

Lost in translation

Chris failed to find the tape before returning home. Scott tried to rescue the mission by telephoning Spanish businesses and explaining that they wanted tape suitable for a woman’s chest and dress. One call produced a possible translation but no purchase. Another reached what appeared to be a garden centre, where the request was even less likely to succeed.

The search ended without the product, but with several confused conversations and a vivid picture of Chris attempting to mime formalwear support in a supermarket aisle.

The phone struck back

Beat Your Phone resumed with Chris facing a music-recognition application. He struggled to identify Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie”, although he recovered with Harry Styles’s “Sign of the Times”. The machine still dominated the contest.

Greg James joined Real or No Real. George and Amal Clooney’s newborn twins were correctly named Ella and Alexander. A claim about the world’s only Cornish pasty museum being in Mexico proved true, as did the existence of Moscow vending machines selling Instagram likes and followers.
