Scott spotted a man travelling in a suit while wearing a full reindeer-antler hat. The commitment to Christmas dress prompted listeners to report other people bringing festive accessories into otherwise normal working days.

Madonna became a financial proposition

Divorce coverage inspired the show to ask strangers whether they would marry Madonna for £60 million. The deliberately transactional question stripped celebrity romance down to a number and let the public decide how quickly principle disappeared once the figure became large enough.

Beccy found a Thrustmaster

Beccy’s Classifieds offered a free games controller with an unfortunate but real product name, the Thrustmaster, intended for skateboarding games. Crimewatch and television chatter also appeared, but the day belonged to antlers, money and another classified item whose name required almost no help from Scott to sound inappropriate.
