It's great to see those friendships still thriving. I think the days of Radio 1 DJs and Capital DJs being unable to co-exist is long over. You used to either be firmly BBC or commercial, and you don't get the sense that's the case anymore.

Indeed and Jordan was already friends with Sian Welby, Will Manning and Jimmy Hill.

  2. Vick and Jordan together on Insta (with Ariel’s) in Ibiza. You do imagine Jordan’s ex colleagues have a very different attitude to him than management. Comments on Help! And very subtle comments on Capital Breakfast suggest Jordan was frustrated with Radio 1 / BBC management.

Jordan mentioned this morning he is going to Ibiza this weekend for his friend's wedding party. Clearly Arielle's! He said he had to turn down the wedding after only being on Breakfast two weeks.

I see Vick and husband were at Arielle's wedding. Let's see if Insta pics emerge of them hanging out with Jordan over the weekend.

That or Connor Coates or Charlie Tee. If there is a specific designated live dance show across digital radio and BBC Sounds able to be plugged into cars, at home and in public spaces which are how Radio 1’s listeners mostly listen to the station live that isn’t a simulcast. The station could consider to not play many dance tracks in that morning slot to give distinctions between the two programmes. It would be interesting if this could also be the time where Charlie Hedges leaves Rickie and Melvin to become the DJ for this morning show with Rickie & Melvin for weekend afternoons and something different for mid-mornings all together on the flagship 1 station

And you could imagine a gradual extension of the schedule.

My suggestion of Arielle was twofold - firstly it coincides with her leaving Early Breakfast and secondly, she is the dance DJ with most extensive experience of mainstream presenting (except Charlie Hedges).

  5. End of week one.  It's a great show actually and whilst we'd probably like some more of "chaotic Jordan" it sounds close to flawless for a new show.  I am sure it helps a lot that Jordan already knew Chris and Sian well.

Capital must be delighted as I am sure Roman would have been there for as long as he wanted so it must be great to have such a smooth transition.

Ah but aren't Radio 1 guilty of just coming up with 'off the cuff' ideas that have taken months of planning? Often some of Scott's best ideas were - let's read Laura's Diary etc. Not that this is in the same league!

A lot of entertainment radio is a little or a lot less impromptu than it appears.

I mean do we really think Greg James' "Sit Down, Stand Up" isn't pre-recorded and edited?

And that's no criticism of anybody - we'd be missing out on stacks of great radio without this "theatre".

Today is the second day listening back, and I really am enjoying it. For me, it’s partly the Chris Stark factor though, I always loved his ability to take a silly idea to the next level. Getting the CEO of Greggs on the show to roll out a Jordan special, to give just one example.

Yeah me too.  I mean I am enjoying it in a different way to some of Jordan's past shows.  He is a bit less crazy but he is still funny and warm and it's just a good listen.

I've been listening to Capital breakfast for a past few days and can confirm it's a really good listen. However, it shows how strict the format is. Same music, same ads, time-restricted links, short songs. Jordan is great though.

And now I've switched to Radio 1 and Greg's doing some sort of 'sexy or not sexy' link. What a difference.

Would I much rather listen to Jordan and Katie on Radio 1 Breakfast Vs Capital Breakfast - yes.  But you know I'm finding Capital Breakfast really pleasant listening and the music is certainly more wallpaper which given some of the current Radio 1 choices isn't a bad thing?

I've also been finding Greg a little predictable in recent times.

I liked Vick and Jordan, Jordan has so many different settings 🤣. I do hope he will get back to the Jordan we all know and love soon. Although, I guess it’s a bit like when Scott went to 2, he was different to how he was on Radio 1. Although, Moyles has remained the same whichever station he’s on. 😂

He isn’t not himself - if anything the disturbing part is that he is quite slick and professional !

I am liking the show but I was also enjoying Roman, Chris and Sian in recent weeks. It’s not laugh out loud radio mostly but it’s a nice listen and entertaining in the same way that say Saturday Night Takeaway is.

It's more engaging than I imagined Capital breakfast to be. Like others said, I haven't heard Roman much to compare it. It sounds like Sian and Chris have more leadership on air.

Even with Roman, Sian and Chris took ownership of a lot of the features with the “senior host” very much anchoring.

He made the comment that is undeniable but I believe the motive wasn’t to cause offence but being naive. It’s something that is uncharacteristic and he has apologised for the comment.

Clearly no offence was intended, Greg has apologised and learnt a lesson, that's the end of it as far as I am cocerned.

I think on all these topics we need to distinguish between the behaviour of hate and poorly thought out comments.  The first raises serious questions of what roles a person should be in and the second is a learning curve.  We live in a more and more complex world and we could all fall foul of saying something stupid sometime without thinking.

In all honesty didn’t mind her as much on the radio. I find she was more preferable on radio than television. I find she doesn’t quite fit the TV world and find most often when she is on television most viewers objectify her and is based on her looks rather than her as a presenter found she wasn’t too over bearing or in your face. I didn’t mind listening to her while completing my A-Level art work.

I do think some of Maya’s TV work is due to her looks which is back to the 70s mentality.

They've been talking about it on the Sexted podcast

According to Jordan, the BBC told him he had just broadcast his final radio show only 20 minutes before he was set to appear on another podcast called Dish.

Jordan said: “Listen to [Dish] because around 20 minutes before that recording I was called by the BBC to be told that was my last show.”

William said: “I am going to be serious now and I said this to you at the time. Considering you had the news that you did you were phenomenal.

“You were so good, you were on point, you were funny – you were great.”

There was also a joke in another episode where William told Jordan he'd replace him with Jamie Laing.  Jordan says "I left"
