  1. I can see me listening to Nicki Chapman and Gary Davies on Radio 2.
  2. Shows almost universally liked on this forum.
  3. You imagine that Sunday is the only day of the week that is totally clear for Vick and Adam to spend the whole day together. As it is Vick almost never seems to come up to Salford to do the show now. You really couldn't blame her for giving it up but it's bound to be a bind for her as she seems to really enjoy doing it. If she didn't, she'd have given it up long ago - not as if she is short of work or money...
  4. And to be honest - as much as I think Vick is great, I'd say Jordan and Katie is the optimal pairing of the thruple.
  5. Do you know - that's a really valid point. I never listen closely to Dean and Vicky but I get the impression that little or nothing has really stuck. Compare to Vick and Jordan where many features have stuck over two years.
  6. My actual favourite daytime show this year was Jordan and Katie on Breakfast back in August..total laugh out loud funny frequently... However, I've voted for Going Home as consistently good and is still a great listen when Katie covers for Vick or Jodan.
  7. So it's basically using those tried and tested on Friday early mornings for Christmas. Not a bad idea to be fair. Those of us who have been around longer will remember when the midnight to 0400 and early breakfast presenters (weekdays and weekends) covered periods like this. Realistically - these days they'd have Arielle, Sam and Danni, Matt and Mollie (who are too big really to work Christmas), Katie (ditto) and Nat to cover.
  8. Jerry, Charlie Hedges or James Cuisack are most obvious possibilities... I never do much on NYE but sit in and drink wine with the dog and I must say Jordan made that slot special.
  9. Connor is in for Charlie on Dance Anthems today - seems her daughter is under the weather.
  10. I reckon if Jack is on air over Christmas he will be on daytime duties. Also if Katie is on-air I'd say she will be paired with Jordan on breakfast. Nat O'Leary is a good bet to be on-air quite a bit.
  11. And you only really need 3 to 4 presenters to cover daytime. The commercial radio 6 - 10, 10 - 14, 14 - 18 or 7 - 10, 10 - 13, 13 - 16 and 16 - 19 would be perfectly adequate.
  12. The other one with big potential is Emil. He is doing quite well at Absolute though so I wonder if he'd a choice between a daytime slot there or Radio 1 which he would choose.
  13. I know why things were as they were but I have found Christmas a time I tune away from Radio 1 as the anthems shows just become very tedious. So with more experienced presenters on, hopefully the station can sound more normal. But I wouldn't guarantee that.
  14. As said before - I think the “show outside London” bit was the single biggest driving force there.
  15. As the two of us agree - the days of an OTT serious chart are pretty much over given the time slot and true relevance of the chart now.
  16. I think when Jordan has done breakfast with Vick and now Mollie it is quite a different Jordan to when he did that week with Katie. He let himself go much more that week. (And actually his style was quite close to how he is on his Podcast). He's still the best thing to happen to Radio 1 in a long time.
  17. Though in my list of preferences I prefer Jordan with Mollie at Breakfast than Matt and Mollie. Jordan and Katie just did some of the best radio I have heard in a long time. Thinking to the future, one issue I guess is that Katie lives up North so would really need to move to London to do Breakfast full-time.
  18. Enjoying Jordan and Mollie but can't lie, I'd rather have Jordan with Katie!
  19. I know Jordan’s last chart appearance wasn’t appreciated by everyone. But I think turning it into a more mainstream show and entertaining on a Friday afternoon is probably the direction to go given the chart really isn’t so relevant these days.
  20. And that's the thing about co-hosting - some people need a co-host to be interesting and others simply go beyond how great they already are - I think this is true of Scott and Jordan. Jordan's last solo chart cover - the day where he basically broke the chart - showed just how much he doesn't NEED a co-host but yet the week on breakfast with Katie showed how a co-host allows him to do stuff he just couldn't solo.
  21. Many of the presenters are perfectly good on their own - Jordan a clear example. Though Jordan's style lends itself to having somebody to bounce off.
  22. As usual it's either something or nothing. Nonetheless, it's always interesting who is being chosen to cover one of the biggest radio shows in the country especially when one of the people involved is the natural / obvious successor. I do wonder what Greg's plan is. He is certainly under no pressure to leave Radio 1 but I think he'll be driven by wanting to do other things. It's been his job since leaving Uni after all. For Jordan it needs to happen fairly soon or it's unlikely he will ever get it.
  23. I wonder if Matt is unavailable or they are trying Jordan out with different pairings. Seems pretty clear Vick doesn’t want Breakfast. Jordan and Mollie did do a week of breakfast before a few years ago.
  24. Jack often shows his girlfriend on Insta.
  25. Of the daytime DJs only Melvin springs to mind, don't know Clara's status and I think Sam might be single. Maybe Nat too? Jordan has been partnered for a while but "we don't talk about these things".
