  1. Greg just mentioned he's on till Wednesday, so presumably Dean's meant to be on breakfast on Thursday as well (although he's off ill so remains to be seen if he's back on by then).
  2. Maybe... she's dipped in and out of Radio 2 both as cover and with permanent slots so you never know, she might pop up again one day... No surprise that Emma has got the gig. She's been a regular cover presenter over the past few years (mostly on Saturdays for Dermot and Claudia/Romesh, and more recently for Sara Cox on drive).
  3. Zoe's leaving her Saturday afternoon show already after taking over the 1-3pm slot in May. Emma Willis joins Radio 2 on a permanent basis to replace her. Zoe's last show is next Saturday and she will continue to host music specials across the year for R2 and Sounds.
  4. Schedule has been updated to show OJ covering the breakfast show on New Years Day.
  5. Oh.. i agree definitely a massive opportunity. I suppose in terms of Radio 1, there's potentially an opportunity to join the Friday early breakfast rotation next year if any of them impress the bosses.
  6. It's still a massive opportunity, but surely some of them will feel short changed compared to previous Christmas takeover.. in that it's a pre recorded slot on Anthems, rather than a live daytime show on Radio 1 itself?
  7. Gary Davies sits in for Vernon on mid mornings from Monday 22nd December for two weeks. Richie Anderson in for Dermot O'Leary on Saturday 27th December.
  8. Phil Williams in for OJ Borg tonight and Thursday.
  9. As it stands, he's on until Christmas Eve. First time in a few years. It's in Wycombe, where Vernon performed last year (or the year before). Vernon also did his show and panto for a week. A long day but it's doable now he's on in the morning Mark Goodier is doing the breakfast show from Boxing Day up to Friday 2nd January, then Sara's on for the week starting 5th January, so Scott will be off for some of his panto run.
  10. Saturday 3rd January as well. Rylan's on today, although it's pre recorded so his last live show of the year was last week.
  11. Interesting that they've swapped Mark onto drive for that week. Would've made a lot more sense keeping him on breakfast and Sara hosting her own show. I suppose there's some logic there somewhere ?
  12. No mention on the schedule, but as expected... Gary Davies is covering for Vernon over Christmas.
  13. OJ Borg in for Paddy McGuinness on Sunday 14th December.
  14. OJ just mentioned he's off over Christmas for the first time in a while but back on NYD morning so I think he's doing the breakfast show that day. It's still got Scott listed (Mark Goodier is listed for the rest, and he's on NYD lunchtime with a Pick Of The Pops special)
  15. Calum Leslie is this months Life Hacks co-presenter.
  16. Rylan mentioned yesterday that next week is his last show of the year before he does panto. Breakfast starts at 7am on NYD, due to the first few editions of Tony Blackburn's Sounds Of Soul series going out between 4 and 7am. There's also a Sounds Of Soul between 12 and 2pm on Friday 2nd January. NYD afternoon is Pick Of The Pops between 12 and 3pm, 'Your Ultimate Stevie Wonder Song' with Trevor Nelson between 3 and 5pm, then 'The Wonder Of Stevie' with DJ Spoony between 5 and 6pm.
  17. As for listening figures, it's no surprise with there being a million and one stations for every decade and every mood, that people are tuning in elsewhere. Of course some followed Ken, but I imagine a good chunk of Vernon's 6.6 million listeners aren't new, and plenty stuck with R2 when Ken left. Considering the vast amount of choice, that is still a very respectable figure.
  18. I think everyone has hit the nail on the head. I get Ken was probably asked the question in the hope they'd get a negative BBC headline.. but he chose to move on. Radio 2 has changed a lot in the past few years, but I think the changes made were the right ones. Radio 2 has to evolve. If some people had it their way, there would still be a lot of Big Band and easy listening type shows, and 60's/70's on daytime shows (it's not as if they don't still play anything from these decades in the day) When I read people saying it's like Radio 1 from 20 years ago.. the only comparison is some of the presenters. The actual content and to be fair most of the music is nothing alike. Yeah, they play some tracks now that R1 played at the time but R2 didn't, but a lot of those songs are 20 or more years old, so it's no surprise Radio 2 are playing them now.
  19. I didn't think of Radio 1 Anthems to be fair. I think you might be right on that. Makes sense having the back to back Anthems on that station.
  20. I guess it'll be updated further soon. Rylan is listed through December, but he's starting Panto in a few weeks, so as per previous years there likely will be someone standing in for 4 weeks (it was Grimmy last year).
  21. Scott & Vernon are both showing right up to Christmas Eve, but then so is Owain and the press release said Steffan Powell will be on early breakfast on Christmas Eve/Boxing Day. I'd assume Gary Davies is in for Vernon for a few weeks from Boxing Day at least. OJ is listed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day overnights still which i can't see being the case. He usually covers for Sara Cox over the Christmas period, but obviously that's Spoony's job this time around
  22. Good to see Mylo and Rosie on 'breakfast', plus Emil who is always great when he pops up (he must be one of the next in line of regular cover presenters to get a permanent slot) Intrigued that there is no sign of any new presenters on daytime slots over Christmas.. although hopefully that's the end of the same old pre mixed Anthems slots. If the new Christmas presenter intake is still happening, what form will it take?
  23. Lorraine Kelly sitting in for Jeremy Vine from Monday 22nd to Wednesday 24th December. That's a R2 presenting debut for Lorraine Sunday 28th December from 3pm-5pm has a Celebration of Johnny's Walker NYE from 12pm onwards is identical to last year.. 12-2pm Sophie's Kitchen Disco, then Sounds of the 60's from 2-4, 70's from 4-6, 80's from 6-8 (a busy day for Gary Davies if he's in for Vernon as well), 90's until 10pm with Owain, then Michelle Visage from 10pm to 1am.
  24. Nat and Vicky in for Matt & Mollie on Wednesday 10th December
  25. Good to see Mark back on breakfast. Christmas day is up now and it looks to be near enough identical to last year. 6-8am Zoe Ball's Christmas Crooners 8-10am Good Morning Christmas 10am-12pm Junior Choice with Anneka Rice 12-2pm Jane Mcdonald 2-4pm Gary Davies 4-7pm Pick of the Pops 7-9pm Beverly Knight Gospel Revue 9-11pm Trevor Nelson's Soul Christmas. OJ Borg on Christmas and Boxing Day and Owain on Boxing Day are bound to change. Boxing Day afternoon looks to be the mid afternoon and teatime merged into one show between 2 and 6pm.
