Hmmm.... seems to be suppressing creativity and flexibility of stations up and down the country, and has arguably led to the complete sanitation of commercial radio. Let's hope the BBC remains distinctive(ly ahead of its competition)

OFCOM, the new regulators for the BBC have announced a new draft operating license which sets out some rules about the standards on it's programming and it's competition. These changes apply to BBC Radio 1/2 as well so here's a rundown on some of the changes..
A new peak-time requirement for a longer news programme on weekdays, the 1 hour requirement is staying though and there will be still 2 extended bulletins. There will be more focus on emerging and new UK acts and the music output will be more distinct from other broadcasters. The music played during the daytime will be focused from those in the UK. R1 will still be required to broadcast a certain amount of Specialist Music each year. There will be a bigger broader range of music played on R1/R2. This means the playlist could be set for more changes in terms of it's size. I see that Cel Spellman's show is being screwed around with from this week. The Number 1 Show is no more with it being replaced with R1 Most Played from 6pm and there is a brand new show called R1's Best New Pop.
I wonder what everyone thinks of this? Personally I really don't think we need yet another most played show as we already have one for the evening show, quite like the idea about R1's Best New Pop show although wouldn't it be better for any other DJ on R1 just to play all this stuff? Think Cel's show is a waste of time really...

New voiceovers are now on Greg's show.

I'm guessing the Pure Jingles package will be dead by next week giving the fact that they nearly have completed the roll out after 100 years of easing the new set. 

I did notice that the only place you'd hear the old Where It Begins idents was at the start of Adele's show. Hopefully that'll be a proper end to the Pure Jingles package completely - the new sound is much fresher.

I think Dev might be in trouble with someone who has produced the new ID's and someone at R1 overall. He had a bit of a moment this morning when he played a new ID with a dubstep music background and described it as, 'A bit pissy' so stopped and switched to an old ID halfway thorough. If you want to hear the incident again then listen to this mornings show and skip to 47:12.

If it's also 'the freshest chart around' why doesn't it include streaming data in it? Not really fresh otherwise isn't it... 

I suppose it couldn't be any worse than a chart show not being live, the mess that is the Big Top 40 WITH MARVIN HUUUMMES. Utterly messy with it being voicetracked, I mean why would want to bloody well voicetrack a Christmas Chart show?

Apologies for the slow updates recently, I have been finishing the current new set off with just a few stuff left! The power intro stuff will be split in two parts because I'm lazy but hopefully I will do a combined very soon!

She presents BBC Introducing shows for BBC Radio Norfolk and has occasionally stod in for Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart.

Ooh that's a very good variety this year and I think one of the better Chrsitmas schedules that Radio 1 have put out. Looking forward to Scott's and Chris's Chrsitmas Bangers show and the return of the Chart Of The Year however surely it's and end of an era with Scott & Chris not on Chrsitmas breakfast.

So with Radio 1 starting to roll out their new imaging I thought it would be a great time to make a montage of the new imaging. I am going to cover power intros, sweepers, lots of stuff from Breakfast and Cel Spellman's Best New Pop/Most Played shows. I'm not going to release everything at once but I will create a checklist below on things I will promise to do.
The Checklist:
Include General Beds/Breakfast Beds in the same package (DONE 2/12) Include General Beds and Breakfast Beds in a separate package (DONE 5/12) Include all TOTH Breakfast Idents, there are 6 in total I think (DONE 3/12) Include Breakfast Sweepers going into songs (DONE 15/12) Include package with the new grainy '1's' (DONE 15/12, ADDITIONAL IN PROGRESS) Include new imaging from Cel's new shows, 'R1's Best New Pop/Most Played in the same package (DONE 15/12) Include new imaging from Cel's new shows, 'R1's Best New/Pop/Most Played in a separate package (TO DO) Include imaging from the New Music Friday section in Adele's show (TO DO) Include power intros from various songs (WIP) There new imaging hasn't fully rolled out yet in some areas so watch this space for update. Meanwhile I will include the first package done as a free gift below.

UPDATE 1 (3/12): General Sweepers/Breakfast Sweepers have been uploaded into a separate package. UPDATE 2 (5/12): The Breakfast idents are now available to listen to. I decided it was easier to just combine the original demo on Soundcloud and the two idents that wasn't included to save time, also included is an example of a trailer heard during the various shows. UPDATE 3 (15/12): I'm nearly there with things, I'm going to record another two parts of the power intros, part 2 will be the rest of the other power intros while part 3 will be dedicated to Christmas power intros. I'm also going to record additional stuff for the beds and grainy 1's and then update the files above with the additional stuff included!
