  1. Only time will tell. As of the moment, the BBC plans to get rid of BBC 3 and make it a "digital-only channel", and bring in a BBC 1+1, and extend CBBC by an houur, so that it finishes at 8pm. I think these changes are planning on being made in Autumn 2015.
  2. Yup! Scott's the only Radio 1 DJ who has his own forums and website named in his honour!
  3. Dial A Carol? I remember BBC Radio 2 having a very similar feature a couple of years back called "Christmas Carols", where listeners could call in and request a song, providing their names were "Carol" and they were requesting a Christmas song. I never thought I'd say this, but I think... I'm starting to like Nick Grimshaw. What are your opinions on him?
  4. Gemma needs to leave, before she's fired. I don't see what the BBC bosses see in her; there seems to be a considerable lack of any talent whatsoever....
  5. There's NOT ENOUGH OF THE THEME to hear
  6. You know what - I think you could be right. Do you know anything about her "cancer scare", because I recognize the term being linked with her before, but I can't quite remember any details...... I'm not complaining though; Clara is much more entertaining.
  7. Hi! I'd be happy to fill out your survey, but your link doesn't seem to work.
  8. I heard it on Newsbeat this morning too. Wow, Clara's going to have a busy weekend. I'm a fan of Clara's, she seems to have a much better on-air personality than Jameela. I look forward to the changes that the chart will have (and the new jingles, of course) :-)
  9. Do you think that when Mills leaves Radio 1, these forums will significantly change?
  10. I've got to say, it seems a little pricey to say that some acts within the line-up barely even made it to anything within the show. But hey, who am I to judge that sort of thing?
  11. I reckon there will still be a ramp, though. I think it sounds decent (but only when used appropriately).
  12. While I love the BBC and adore most of their content, personally, I thought it was pretty awful. For example, Chris Evans picking out an audience member to announce the (first ever) award was a shambles, and the shows that went out to BBC Radio 1 & Radio 2 were pretty awful (how many Radio 2 listeners would enjoy this trash?). The radio coverage was pretty rushed too - interviews were too brief and messy, a lot of content from the BBC Music Awards was only really appropriate for television, such as the Greg James dance (cue the awkwardly late link from Zane about how amazing it is that Chris Martin from Coldplay can sing while walking... isn't that fascinating). Also, the stage lighting and visual branding wasn't too strong - the on-stage lighting of radio waves is okay, but where's the BBC logos?! Without that (rather small) screen at the head of the stage, we wouldn't know what we were watching if it wasn't for the presenters. Mm. Bit of a shame, really. I was probably too excited. Sum it up in one word? Bluerghhhh.
  13. I imagine a stark difference in the new news imaging (rather exciting)! A Christmas present for all us nerds. RE Gemma Cairney's use of the Newsbeat theme at the moment.... oh dear. She doesn't even nearly fill it!
  14. I heard the same! I also heard the phrase, "Screw you, management". Nice man.
  15. Thanks so much for grabbing these - they're fabulous
  16. Hey all! There's a whole bunch of jingles and beds posted by the lovely user kess01 available here: http://www.unofficialmills.co.uk/communities/showthread.php?17737-BBC-Radio-1-Breakfast-Show-With-Nick-Grimshaw-Jingles
  17. Hi all, As I'm sure you're aware (a couple were asking), some of the Radio 1 beds come from a site called bedsandbeats.com and Emergency Production Music, both websites that provide free beds to the radio industry, providing that they have a licensed PPL & PRS number. I'm aware that Scott Mills' beds come from a mixture of the two, and I'm willing to share the official versions (without vocals, watermarks or effects).
  18. Have you heard the 1Xtra Newsbeat jingle? I'm not a big fan. I'm guessing they share the same live bulletins?

    Pop Classics

    Cool! This looks good.
  20. I suspect Greg will be a major player - he's notorious for his parodies and he covers most events on BBC Three, too (like Glastonbury and G In The Park)
