  1. Really good interview! I was a huge Fearne fan back in the day when she was on Diggit and doing Finger Tips with Holly on CITV. I think the main reason I don't like her so much now is overexposure. It's a shame she gets such a hard time from audiences and critics. Shouting out 'slag!' while recording a show and sending her rude and abusive texts is just pathetic and really unfair. I'm not a fan anymore, I think over exposure is one of the main reasons why, but she does come across as a genuine person who's full of enthusiasm and committed to her work. I guess she's just the kinda person you either love or hate.
  2. Nihal's doing a lot of overtime these days.
  3. I was a huge Jamiroquai fan back in the day! Not heard any of there stuff in ages ago since new things come about and they've drifted away from the limelight. Does this mean a new album's on the way? I certainly hope so!
  4. My phone has blocked Urban Dictionary for the same bizarre reason. So now I can't translate slang and internet abreviations into English when I'm out and about.
  5. I'm not able to listen tonight but I did think he was quite nervous when he was covering for Stephen a few weeks back. Was quite awkward listening at times, him talking over people repeatedly and being pedantic over irrelevant things, the odd cringeworthy joke and so on; but by the end of the weekend he seemed much more confident in the role. He's not better than Stephen Nolan, he's not my favourite stand in for Nolan, but he is good and its an enjoyable listen.
  6. Twin B's show is exactly how a request show should be! Today he played tracks I've never come across before, the odd fantastic classic we all know and love, the odd playlist track from a few months ago and the current chart toppers. The fact that he himself is a brilliant and entertaining presenter makes the show even better. He's one to watch.
  7. Has Annie ever covered on the Lie-in before? She'll be perfect for that slot with her cool, calm voice and all. It'll be the first time I'll be able to listen to the Lie-In since Sara's been away.
  8. I thought he was a fantastic guest when he was on so I'm sure he'll be a fantastic host!
  9. Yeah I did I only did 1 A-Level though so I suppose I always had it a bit easy. I did awfully in the first year AS module exams so was incredibly pleased and surprised to get an A (8 marks off full marks) in the last module which probably lifted my overall mark up to a B instead of the C I was expecting. A good day all round for me and my friends yesterday as they all met their conditions for their uni courses, so luckily we spared the chaos and uncertainty of Clearing. Anyone else?
  10. Oh yeah, sorry! Oh gosh no. Not at all! I agree I've never understood why people call the show to request singles that are already on the playlist. It's boring, repetitive, unimaginative and lazy. The request show and the takeovers should be about playing the tracks that normally wouldn't be played on the station, the great classics we all love and the forgotten and underrated singles we all once loved. To be fair to Reggie though, I do often hint that he doesn't want requests for playlisted tracks, he probably finds it just as annoying as we do.
  11. Congratulations Kirsty! I got a surprising set of A-Level and BTEC results today!
  12. I meant that in the past tense. '..as would have CBB' or '...as CBB would also have' is probably what I should have written.
  13. I guess it's hard to explain. But I think it's Sara's charisma, charm, genuineness and warmth. The stories she tells and the way she tells them, the way she interacts with others.. It's really hard to explain, but I guess it's just like a mate who isn't necessarily hilarious or stand-up material, but in the context and situations you find yourselves in they may just say things or tell you stories and share with you anecdotes that make you smile or even laugh out loud. Things that only work in that context and wouldn't really be as amusing out of context if they were just repeated. Not sure if that helps MrDoovde, or if other FMs would agree and describe what it is that makes her funny in the same way, but that's what I like about Sara and her sense of humour anyway.
  14. To be honest I understand exactly where you're coming from. But in my opinion there's very little that can be done to save a show with the dying and out-dated format of the Chart Show. I guess Reggie's just trying to add a bit more interactivity and more 'extensive features' to enhance the show. The DJs on rotation idea would be good to start with, but the novelty of it will wear out after not too long. Come to think of it, a bit like Have I Got News For You. It probably would work on a fairly regular but short-term/temporary basis like inbetween presenters (like between Wes Butters leaving and Fearne & Reggie starting).
  15. I understand those who say they want more music and less talk from the presenter, but when I feel that way I turn towards my iPod. I rarely listen to any of Reggie's shows but when I have, I've always considered him to be more than a competent presenter. He comes across as loving what he does and he usually sounds energetic and gives the show the muscle, pizzazz, punch, spirit and vigour which the Request Show and Chart Show formats, by their very nature, lack.
  16. Wow! What is it about Westwood that the producers of Dancing on Ice want so badly? Maybe they think he'll bring along his many fans and followers along as viewers. Or maybe to add a slight lighthearted and comedy element to an otherwise serious entertainment show. I'm A Celeb would be a better option for him IMO though, as would Celebrity Big Brother. Would be the ideal opportunity to show to his 'haters' the real Tim Westwood. Would enhance his profile and celebrity status too. I'm always surprised at how many people I know who have never heard of Tim Westwood. Any excuse, eh Tim? Don't blame you though, I could do with a trip to Nando's right now
  17. The clips of an over excited and over-dressed Phillip Schofield has always been enough to put me off Dancing on Ice, but I'd definately make the effort to watch this coming series if Tim Westwood is on it. But 12 weeks of no Westwood on Radio 1 and 1Xtra isn't at all good, even though his stand-ins for both shows are usually very good themselves. But then again, with the flat payment of £50,000 being offered he'd be a fool to reject it!
  18. I've noticed quite a lot of DJs on R1 and 1Xtra say they're DJing in a location thats quite far from London (like Bristol or York or somewhere) from about 2 hours after they've finished their show. I've always wondered how they travel so far in such a short amount of time. Must be exhausting.
  19. Na its not crap lol. Quite a few, why?

  20. September is normal down here in England. Just media studies pretty much.

  21. I should have voted tactically and gone for Chase and Status
  22. Im doing communications. Start at the end of September. You start the Wednesday coming? That's a bit early isnt it? Never dyed my hair. Sometimes it's like a mini afro though but thats it. I prefer it short tbh :)

    Songs.

The version without the girl. So true Annalie! At least to appease those who can't handle a bit of swearing many songs on download sites like iTunes do clean versions too. So at least the options there for everyone. Eminem's not that bad. He swears in humour or to emphasise a serious point. His childhood was tainted by his awful family life, living in poverty and exposure to the rough streets in Detroit so his lyrics are 'real' to that extent. And that's what he raps about, most of the time anyway.
