  1. Really patriotic of them:rolleyes: No doubt the world cup coming to England would increase the risk of cancer, mean an increase on immigration and house prices...
  2. The big companies don't want any tax increases though, they backed the Tories when they said no to NI increases, now they have to increase VAT they're worried about it. If it's true that a 2.5% increase on VAT is the same as a 3% increase on NI then it would mean that you take a hit on certain goods you buy when you go shopping as opposed to big employers and employees taking a bigger hit every hour they work/employ.
  3. I wondered that when he went on Top Gear saying he had something like 12 ferraris.
  4. If they've got to increase tax this is the best way to do it imo. Having to pay an extra two and a half pence in the pound isn't going to make a massive difference to anyone. Equally it was an awful decision to reduce it to 15% last year on the basis that people will suddenly go out and start spending £££ because things suddently became 2.5% cheaper, yet it cost the government millions.
  5. In regard to nightmare changes to radio one, just heard someone on Dev's focus group saying there should be more R&B and more Fearne on radio one. I couldn't hear any irony in his voice either...
  6. Zane Lowe's name is actually Zanie Lowie but it was a too girly name for a DJ so he manned it up a bit
  7. Dear Unofficial Mills, Is there anyway of downloading the Nessa Remix of OMG? Thankyou YB x
  8. Yep :sadisticsmilie: Adrian Chiles would have been the perfect host if he was still with the beeb:D
  9. http://www.rajar.co.uk/listening/quarterly_listening.php You have to pay to see figures for periods of the day.
  10. They should make an apprentice your fired spin off for this series as well
  11. Depends if it's mandatory referendum or advisory one. I'm 99% sure the agreement will be that it's a mandatory referendum in which case if the public vote for voting reform then it WILL go through.
  12. It's alright but it's just not the same, the Lord is alot softer than usual and instead of backstabbing, contestants are just crying.
  13. "Chelsea won the FA Cup yah" When I heard this I just chundered EVERYWHERE. Banter...
  14. Cabinet so far looks like this Deputy Nick Clegg Chancellor George Osbourne Foreign Sec William Hague Defence Liam Fox Health Andrew Lansley Scottish Danny Alexander David Laws will probably be Education secretary and Vince Cable working with Ken Clarke in the Treasury. I guess the key is who becomes home secretary, Chris Gayling was the shadow home secretary but Cameron will look to dump him after the controvesy he's caused recently. The Lib Dems still have one more cabinet position to fill (almost certainly will be Chris Huhne) so it may well be him, in which case the Lib Dems have done pretty well for themselves.
  15. According to 5live it'll be announced pretty soon and Tory/Lib coalition is a done deal. Could be announced during Scott's show.
  16. I know, just saying generally (although I bet you would sell them for a grand:D)
  17. I can see why he's someone you either love or hate but personally I think he's the best DJ on the station with the exception of Moyles and the only person who'd be capable of replacing Moyles now (I hope it doesn't happen).
  18. Because we have a free press, the BBC has to be neutral but commercial TV/Radio stations can be as biased as they like, except they have to give all the major parties equal coverage in an election period.
  19. Sky News and Boulton are so right wing that it's not really surprising. Alistair Campbell is a master of mind games and patronising people and Boulton fell for it. Shame he didn't punch him though...
  20. Bit of a risk paying big money for tickets as they may ask you for ID (i.e. prove you are the person who's name they are in). Good Luck though, I hope you manage to get there!
  21. Just tuned in a few minutes ago, how come Scott's leaving early?
  22. But if you vote for Conservative you are doing so in the knowledge that your vote will help them become prime minister and I'm sure alot of people don't know who there MP is and just vote for who they want to be leader, but techinically your right.
  23. With Cameron as leader, the Tories got 2 million more votes than Labour and more seats. If he becomes PM I don't see how you can say he'd be unelected.
  24. So the party with the most votes gets no power and we have another unelected leader. How democratic.
  25. Thank God it looks like the end of an area of irresponsible spending from Brown and the Labour government. I think the Tories will manage to do a deal with the Lib Dems and form a coalition, whatever happens this country will be in a mess for the next few years (mainly down to Labour doing what they always do when they leave government - leave the country in the shit).
