Anyone know why Darren Fletcher seem to have replaced Chappers on 606 over the past 4 weeks? Its not due to Chappers being on holidays or anything as Chappers is still heard on the station on Saturdays but not on 606. Really like Chappers and Robbie Savages banter togeather.

Just really makes you angry to see YOUR country which is part of Britain and pay the licence fee is totally overlooked while a country that isn't part of Britain or dosen't pay the licence fee nor receive any BBC stations legally through their radios etc is welcomed along as part of the British listeners at the start of the show.

Must say as someone from Northern Ireland I was quite annoyed as Im sure where a lot of Northern Ireland people were with Vernons opening link, which went "Hello Engkand, Scotland, IRELAND and Wales.". Perhaps Vernon should check who he's broadcasting too and the countries that pay the licence fee and make up Britain . Quite unprofessional and offensive to Northern Ireland.

What is worthy of a thread then? I'd did'nt know that James not being Gregs real surname was common knowledge so started a thread about, no biggie.

Just saying that aftwer listening to Greg for over a year now I was'nt aware that James was'nt his surname. Don't need to be a cock about it.

Am I a latecomer by just finding out that Greg James surname is not James but is Milward or something!

Haven't had the heart to really listen to the show since Chappers left. For me Chappers made the show.

Absolutely devasted that Chappers is leaving, the show will never be the same again. For me I don't really think I'll listen to the show really anymore, Scott really needs Chappers to bounce off and as others have said Chappers leaving would be like Dave leaving moyles which would be unthinkable. Also think it's a disgrace that his departure is not getting a proper build up, Chappers is a Radio 1 legend and for me deserves a proper send off and dosent deserve to leave like this

Totally agree, really don't know how the show can survive without Chappers, he brings the best out of Scott and Becky. When it's just Scott and Becky it's very bland. If I was Scott Id be doing everything I could to keep Chappers. Going by Scotts recent Twitter post that someone will quit in Thursday it would appear that we won't know to Thursday for definate who's going, I think it would be a disgrace if Chappers leaves in Thursday witout as much as a days notice. I really really hope this is a setup and Chappers dosent go or else that'll be the end of the road for the show for me. Chappers must stay, even if it's part time

Have to agree with Rik, IF Chappers is leaving then why is it being done in such a half assed way as if it was the teaboy leaving. Chappers for me makes the show and is as important to Scott as Comedy Dave is to Chris Moyles. Why leave it to 4 days to his departure, that is if they announce it on Mon. BTW Jono do you know more about Chappers leaving than your letting on?

Or could he Be heading to Moyles show to fill in for Carrie? Would certainly then free him up for the things he has to take off for during Mills show

It has'nt even been announced yet, was'nt mentioned on the show today and Becky has'nt referred to it on twitter again. I really can't see they can just give Chappers a 4 day send off, it just would'nt be right. Also I know Chappers does his show on ESPN on a Sunday night and has this new quiz show starting on ESPN and some occassional work on 5 Live but would that be enough to consider packing a steady Mon-Fri job in at Radio 1?

The thing that dosen't tally up about all this is that Scotts only on for 4 days on breakfast next week then thats the show off until 2010, so if we are to beleive that Chappers is leaving before the end of the year then are they only going to give the listeners 4 days notice? Surely with Chappers being as important to the show as Scott then you think they would make a big deal of him leaving and would have made this public a bit more in advance. I really would be devasted if Chappers left and would proberly not listen really any more as Scott needs Chappers and Becky for the show to work, the way that Moyles would'nt be the same without Dave. Hopefully this is just a prank, but I'm fearing the worst
