I got twitter but only to follow a few interesting celebrities , haven't told anyone I'm on it. No offence to people who are on it but isn't it just something people do because they think everything they do in their life is massively important to everyone, a bit like people who put 'is eating some chocolate' on their facebook status.

Alistair Darling's in with Westwood on Saturday night, George Osbourne will be on Fearne's show on Friday:hahaha: In all seriousness I agree partly with what your saying, in the sense I wouldn't expect Scott to start discussing the economy in between OWO and the PR4L, but I think they could have a specific party political broadcast, although I do think there are a few DJ's who could hold together a decent discussion. I'm sure they've all been on commercial music stations (Absolute?), but it would be completely different in an election period. I'm sure Brown and Cameron would be desperate for the chance to go on Moyles for example, not because of the debate but because they'll be speaking to millions of impressionable first time voters and I think Chris would do a good job but because were into the election period they'd have to have all three and it would be turning it into a political show which it isn't and the team probably don't know how to handle political interviews (like having to give exactly the same airtime, asking the same sort of questions etc.). Alan - there's always been newsbeats where listeners have been able to ask politicians, I'm sure they'll do something before the election.

There was some stuff on the surgery tonight about it, although nothing to do with radio one wasn't there supposed to be something on all facebook telling all users how to vote...never saw anything on that.

Alot of people who vote BNP aren't racist, their just naive. UKIP aren't as extreme and most of what they say isn't actually racist but if they actually got to power UK would probably be a pretty horrible place to live if you weren't white British.

Wouldn't it be better to have it before like the other polls, given we'll know pretty soon after May 6th which way everyone has voted?

No a hung parliament happens if neither party get a majority of seats in the house of commons so they need to join up with another party.

Do you think radio one bosses look at this site? I don't know what the membership is but I know alot of big businesses pay $$$ for feedback from 'customers'. Or is there too much anti-Fearne stuff?

Politicians think they can get away with things like the expenses scandal though because of the low turnouts we constantly get in elections implies that people aren't interested in politics and what the politicians do. Of course politicians (MP's or Leaders) are never going to have exactly the same views of you and you might not like any of them but it's about chosing the least worse one. Personally I think the current government have brought the country to it's knees and I'm not completly convinced by the Tories but I can understand why they've kept quiet because everytime they come up with a half decent idea it's nicked by Labour, also they haven't seen the government books (just a few stats) and I don't think we, or the tories, know how serious the defecit is in and doesn't want to make too many promises. I'd never spoil my vote because I think there's always going to be differences in the parties but I agree with E*4*L that it's equivalent to voting because it gets the turnout figure up.

If you've got a problem with this why don't you phone up the surgery?

Exactly, I don't hate her I just think her shows are empty and a bit boring but you can't have that for daytime radio on a national station.

Didn't mind it at first but I'm starting to find it really annoying.

Rob da Bank was brilliant, had just the right mix of commercial and new music, never heard Daniel P Carter but was so nice hearing proper music on radio one in the daytime instead of some of the crappy music we have to put up on the playlist

I agree with Alan, if you don't vote not only is it an insult to the people who died for democracy or the fact it looks bad on the country, but it means your can't complain about anything because you had the chance to have your say at the ballot box and you didn't take it. DC - firstly it's not guaranteed at all it's going to be one of the closest elections in 20 years, but even if it wasn't you don't actually vote for Cameron or Brown you vote for you MP so even if it was a landslide general election your vote is till important locally because it decides who's going to represent you in the house of commons. I think the Tories will win, I hope they do, I'm not completely convinced by Cameron but I think the current Labour government have brought the country to the knees and I don't think we know the full extent yet, which is why the tories have kept quiet (and also because when they mentioned a decent idea for the economy it got pinched by Labour) as they haven't seen the government books yet. Also the idea of Ed Balls as chancellor should be enough to put anyone voting Labour.

I'm sure I heard Nihal on fearne's show saying he was on tonight on both the review show and the asian beats...
