  1. What are you seeing that I'm not Sophie? Screengrab?
  2. There is a Radio 1 corner on the 1Xtra website now! The 1Xtra homepage will get the same revamp treatment within the next month too. Glad you're all broadly liking it. There's a lot more going on behind the scenes - a lot more automation.
  3. Oh I see it now. No episodes = layout fail. Will ask even bigger nerd than me or Karen to fix it s
  4. Explain the brokenness? Screengrab it (always on duty)
  5. And btw it's not 'bigger things' - there's nowt bigger than the big show after all. Reality is I find myself elevated to the exciting echelons of BBC middle management, so I doubt I'll ever make a fun video or photograph a random celeb ever again, which is sad. But I will be watching and listening with continued interest and increasing despair at what I'm missing out on
  6. Ach I'll still be kicking around. And Karen is super lovely. So all be well. Thanks for being lovely to me these past coupla years geeks. (that was a bit shorter than chappers' goodbye letter wasn't it?)
  7. Toby, the engineer. He's sat in the Live Lounge, with a little sound mixer, mixing between the radio mics the team are wearing, and the radio 1 output
  8. Videos from yesterday's auditions are now online http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/scottmills/2009/07/the-scott-mills-auditions.shtml

  10. When you tweet ideas, links etc, make sure you put #millsthemusical hash tag in your tweets, so we can easily find them!
  11. Get it here - http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/radio1/scottmills/onfire.mp3
  12. That's ant. He makes the chris Moyles show podcast, amongst other things
  13. Here's Napolean's video! http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/scottmills/feature_090303_napolean.shtml

  15. This video just surfaced from last night, thought you'd like it!
  16. I reckon @scott_mills is one of you guys. Who's going to own up to it....
  17. Yep ScottCam is still up - you can watch the highlights and you can play with a demo version of the console - you know, just in case you want to show people what it used to do Thanks for your mockup JonathanEx! Some nice ideas there. Will discuss them with the team. Just to reassure you all, the intention is absolutely to use the full width of the page eventually, but it's a lengthy ol' process - we need to find something that works for all the Radio 1 DJs (not just Scott), is flexible and futureproof, and something that fits in with the BBC's overall style guides. But we are working on it, promise!
  18. Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know about some changes I've made to Scott's site, just to try to organise things nicely. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/scottmills/ At the bottom of the page there's those five boxes which we call the "Article Archive" - it always used to be five there, and then the rest were on another page. It was kind of chronological, and stuff got bumped off the top 5 into the long list as it got older. So I've reorganised this content into three categories now - Guest Gallery, Random Stuff, and Stuff We Made. I think those three categories sum up the three types of content that used to put in the old Article Archive - it's all the same stuff, but there is now a page for each of those three things. The 5 boxes on Scott's home page will now work as follows - 1. Latest Guest 2. Latest Random thing 3. Latest Thing we made 4 & 5 other promotional boxes And obviously there's room for promo and latest video etc at the top of that page as well as always. What do you think? Sam
  19. Hey everyone, just to let you know we're reading with interest and taking notes! (the lazy CSS is fixed now, Mr Ubuntu)
  20. Yo yo, thanks for all your comments again. You'll see some changes with the on-air bar in the New Year, which hopefully do away with most of these glitches. I've reported the problem with the non-black bg on evening shows now we're using the xmas background, hopefully that will get fixed soon. I've also reported the problems on The Surgery's RHN (that's Right Hand Nav, fact fans) and they will be fixed soon as poss. Jono is right - they are missing a stylesheet, and we don't know where it's gone! Hope you're enjoying Scott on breakfast! Brap brap, Merry Christmas all.
  21. Some fair points from all of you guys. Here's a few answers - Hopefully the Kutski thing is fixed now. I *think* that post was written when Kutski was technically still filling in for Eddie Halliwell, and before his new show had officially started. I might be wrong though. Anyhoo, hopefully all fixed now, let me know if not. The "description" underneath Nihal on that screengrab is actually the LiveText - the same text that goes on DAB and Freeview. So, it's a bit of a concern it was wrong. This is managed by the people that do the scheduling and stuff, it's not actually managed by the website team. I know there are problems from time to time with LiveText, but again hopefully this is accurate most of the time. We know about the Annie & Nick black background thing; it's taken us too long to sort that, so I'll get on it. Re. Aled on the surgery, I'm not sure why it hasn't had an overhaul. The site is in the process of moving to /switch (just like the Annie & Nick one did) so we'll sort it then. That will probably tie in with the show relaunching when Kelly comes back (tried to post a URL here to aled.info, but this forum won't let me cause I'm a noob - see Aled's forum post on his site on 2 Dec 08 for more info) Thanks for your feedback re. cameras. All show teams do have digital cameras, but sometimes they forget to take them down into the studio. When that happens, there's not usually the time to ask a guest to wait while they go and get it, so they resort to their mobile phone cameras. It's not ideal, I know. Thanks for pointing out when we get the webcam scheduling wrong. Sometimes people move studios at the last minute due to scheduling clashes, or engineering works. Sadly, the engineers do sometimes forget to change which webcam is active when this happens. Yet another of those things that shouldn't happen but does. I would disagree that it's a poorly updated website; we have a very dedicated team who work very hard on the website. We do appreciate constructive feedback like this though - keep it coming. The email address if you want to contact us is [email protected] - mention you're an Unofficial Mills user, and send as the web address of anything you spot a problem with. Finally, the transition from the old Radio Player to the new iPlayer has been a little rocky, to say the least. Sometimes radio shows take too long to get up there, and sometimes shows aren't available at all. It's a problem the iPlayer people are dealing with, and in the meantime we rely on people like you spotting the mistakes we haven't spotted, so drop us a line!
  22. JonathanEx has it spot on. I have two feeds - one is just Radio 1 output (on a DAB radio I'm afraid, hence the 1sec delay) and the other feed is Scott's desk downstairs. Outside of 4-7pm, I have it set to the DAB. But during Scott's show, I have it set to the desk feed to improve the sync. However, I have to fade the DAB back up again to get Newsbeat. And... sometimes I forget to do it
  23. Would love to see the log. If it can be pulled together into some sort of page somewhere, I'll link to it from Scott's site
