  1. How about a Maximo Park category??
  2. It was poor imo, and the fact that the ghastly Sharon Osbourne's gonna be on every week doesnt help ugh! I'll only tune in in the future if there's a guest I want to see. It's a pity because the format is really good (did Chris come up with it? If not, why the hell was he chosen as host?) Maybe it would work better with someone like Jimmy Carr, maybe as host? And NO Sharon. O !!!!!
  3. Bring back Spoony That's a great idea! I loved him in that slot.
  4. I love it, it's hillarious! I have taken it that it's been written in irony/jest. If I thought that the writer was serious I might have a different view
  5. I personally think this is a good move, I like Nick Grimshaw Although it does seem odd to pass over Huw Stephens for promotion. I wonder how much of Colin's show he'll keep? I hope he'll keep Spoken word surgery and only one of either Audio Bully or MMD, they sound too similar to warrant both being part of the show imo, he'll also want to introduce his own features, no doubt. As for weekend brekkie replacement I can see Greg James doing it, maybe have Sara Cox go 1 - 4 weekdays and either have Edith doing lie - in or Edith (and James King) 1 - 4 weekends and Nihal doing lie - in. I don't think they'll want to let go of any of the daytime presenters at this point (unless they want to move to another station, but radio 2 have already announces their re - shuffle and no radio 1 presenter is in sight!) I say Ronnie Herel for early brekkie, or get Moyles to start at 6 and have an extra specialist show?
  6. It sounded good to me N-Dubz always come off as funny people in interviews. I wouldn't be surprised if radio1 gave them some shows over easter or christmas actually, maybe filling in for Switch?
  7. Swindon, great. In the south AGAIN! To please their London staff I suppose. They might as well just hold it in Hype Park next year, atleast more people will be able to attend then!
  8. Edith would be waaaay out of place on 6music, so would Jo really. I think maybe a weekend slot would suit Edith better, her show isn't bad once or twice a week, her trouble is that it sounds very samey everyday, although I do appreciate that she does try and tweak the show every now and then, she just seems to slightly alter current features. Or, of course reunite her with Colin or give her another broadcast partner, to keep things sounding fresh.
  9. Big plans for Edith? Moving her to the lie-in perhaps
  10. I don't think It'll be friday because Chris is recording his tv show then, and besides, I doubt he'd want to give up the golden hour. Interesting Chris just tweeted about all other recordings being on a thursdsay, could he have asked for them to move it becuase he's away announcing summit? It might be tomorrow though because he'll be speaking to the competition winner then
  11. Edith doesn't sound like she smokes either, and I think Colin's given up? (Idea for a thread, which Radio1 djs smoke? )
  12. Nick Grimshaw is very passionate about music. He started his career as a club promoter and all his tv work has been about music. I agree Huw Stephens would probably be a better choice, he usually does cover for Colin, maybe he's unavailable. Nihal is boring and overused.
  13. I hope he gets to play some of his own choices
  14. Huw Stephens isn't on 6 music! I listen to 6music on occasion, I like the brekkie show and can tune in and out during the rest of the daytime, although I prefer Radio1. I like Lauren Lavenre on a saturday afternoon and Jon Richardson used to be essential listening (especially when Russell Howard was there as well) but I've gone off him as of late.
  15. I disagree, Colin, imo, comes across as one of the more intelligent DJ's on the station.
  16. I agree to some extent. But i think it's about how old the DJ's and shows sound, not how old the DJ is. For instance I think Scott's show still sounds young and appeals to under 25's, same goes for many other DJ's such as Tong, Jules, Westwood, Lowe and more. However, there are some Dj's who's shows' do sound like they target an older audience and should, perhaps find a home on Radio 2. Shows such as Chris moyles, Colin Murray, Vernon Kay and Jo Whiley to some extent as well as others. Now I'm a fan of many of these shows (I listen to Murray nearly every night!) but they don't sound young enough to justify being on Radio 1 imo. There's an intersting thread on Digitalspy actually, it's about Radio2 (who are also facing a similar problem!) where someone suggests scrapping Radio's 1, 1xtra, 2 and 6 music and creating 3 new stations, something like this: Switch: As the name suggests, it'll be the young people station featuring DJ's such as Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw, Greg James, Fearne and Reggie, a few 1 xtra dj's and a few specialist DJ's such as Judge Jules, Huw stephens, Zane Lowe, Westwood, Mistajam, Kissy sell Out. As well as others and new voices Radio1: A cross between the current Radio1 and Radio2 featuring, Moyles, Wogan, Vine, Chris Evans, Wossy, Jonny Walker, Vernon Kay, Ken Bruce, Dermont O'Leary, Jo Whiley, Colin Murray, Danny Baker, Gambo, Pick of the pops and more, playing current Radio2 type music as well as new tracks (especially on Whiley, O'Leary, Bruce etc) Also have alternative music at night (Murray, Shaun Kevany, Lamaque etc) Radio2: Playing less popular specialist shows, possibly country, organ, metal, and possibly foreign language music. Also could be used to warm up talent for the other 2 stations. I think the above idea is cool, although 1 problem pointed out, was deciding which station would be DAB only? I think radio 1 would be safe in the hands of Grimmy, Mac, Cotton, Yates and James anyhoo
  17. Depends where you work I suppose....
  18. I find having the live lounge hour earlier silly. 12 - 12:45 was better because it was possibly during people's lunch breaks.
  19. OMG! I think Im in love with the parrot owner
