I love MTW, I agree with some of the comments regarding FB though, he can be very funny at times but I think a lot of his material is used over and over. I love the shock element of his comedy but lately its become unpredictable and some of it I think pushes the boundaries of taste. I'm thinking in particular of a comment on 1 of the shows on Dave this week where he cracked a joke about Richard Hammond struggeling to remember his wedding day, If I remember rightly it wasnt that long after his Top Gear crash either. Personally I think Russel Howard is the best thing on that show, very very funny guy and he reminds me a little of an old friend. Wish Rhod Gilbert would appear on it more though

K**b head, I'm never too sure what the rules on language are like on various forums I'd hope he gos with Greg, although he doesnt do much talking on air its always nice to hear theres clearly a bit of banter between the pair and they seem to work well from having listened to the morning show

Personally I think Edith goes OTT on the movies front. I think Greg will be a lot less about movies, although obviously it will be part of the show. I would hope if they are also going to do gaming on his new show, it will have a similar set up to Jo's current show with the various experts coming in on differnt days. I couldnt bear another wall to wall movies show 5 days a week, however I cold happily live with 5 shows a week each concentrating on differnt elements of entertainment. I bet Gordon (not so) Smart is feeling a right k******d now after printing his so called "exclusive"

gutted they're gettin rid of Nihal's show at the weekend and replacing it with quite possibly the most irritating presenter they have on payroll. Hopefully he'll be Scott's cover for wen he's off instead. I'd like to think if Chris is off for whatever reason we'll get Vernon as cover with the team. As much as Scott's show is very good, I don't think we hear enough Vernon on the radio. Very glad that Greg's got himself a daytime slot as well, because of working early I was hearing him way back at the start of that show and he's definitly earned his new show

I scerwed up properly last night. I was round at a friends house and we were all having a good time, then someone suggested playing a ouija board. 4 of them played it leaving the other 4 of us sat in the dark having to keep quiet, we were gettin board and started taking the p**s outta it and the "answers" they wee bein given. We kept getting told to shut up and eventually were kicked out the room and sent to 1 of the bedrooms instead. I made my opinions on the "board" very known and when we left I had a go at the girl who told us to leave. After the game finished we went back into the other room where i announced "the gobshite is over" and she stormed off. Her girlfriend made a comment to me sayin well done or words to that effect and then began to have a go at me herself. I dont know what came over me but I saw red and got very agressive towards her and we had words. I tried to push her into another room so I could talk to her but she lost her footing and went flyin across the floor. We then had to be seperated by another of our friends. After another slagging match I stormed off as I suddenly remembered about her girlfriend's voilent ex boyfriend and didnt want her to see me like that. I've tried to speak to her since but it was pretty clear she didnt want to know and wasnt sure if we could be friends any more, as she seems to think I hurt the girl because I was jealous of their relationship. I'm such an idiot

If I remember correctly they were to the effect that the MJ tribute thing on tv was hastily organised, should have been done at a later date to give them more time to sort out somethin better, and I'm sure I think there were a few comments about the guys doin the voiceovers as well. It was more a criticism of the tribute than negative comments about jackson himself

1) Nick Grimshaw I dont know where he came from, I dont know why Radio 1 took him on, I just want him gone. I HATED weekend breakfast when he was doing it, and actually listened to the Moyles and Mills podcassts while he was on instead. I've been unfortunate enough to have heard the nighttime show on occassion as well and I also think thats dreadful. 2a) Moyles getting slated for the slightest thing. Yes he's a bit like Marmite, either love him or hate him, but lately it seems a lot of people bad mouth him for the slightest thing. I'm waiting to hear the backlash to his (correct) comments about the Michael Jackson thing last night which he made on air this morning. Yes he has a bit of a tendancy to go on about things a lot to begin with, the new found love for cooking and the Comic Relief climb for example, and he enjoys a good rant now and then. But most people do that in every day life anyway. I saw some comments on a video on youtube of him interviewing Peter Andre, and some of them were just insults for the sake of insults. Leave the man alone, forget any preconceptions you have and you might just find you enjoy the show. Nobody can be liked by everyone, but from having listened to what he has to say on the show and from having seen his various TV work he seems like a genuinely nice man whose heart is in the right place. 2b) Cheggers Pop Quiz anything to do with Keith Chegwin makes me want to turn off whatever he's appearing on. It never was, and never will, be a worthy replacement to Carpark Catchphrase. The clips of him speaking are irritating, the theme tune is irritating, the whole feature just irritates me 3) Jo Wiley. She seems to feed off of youth culture in order to survive, she often gets behind bands or artists that arent that brilliant and champions songs that are absolute garbage, the way she talks about La Roux is a brilliant example. Personally I think La Roux is terrible and has a dreadful voice, yet she lovin her when she was in the Live Lounge recently. I also thought the way she brought up what Chris Moyles had said about La Roux's voice was uncalled for and basically shit stirring, there was no real reason to have brought it up and seemed to me to just be her getting a dig in for the sake of it. 4) Sara Cox's sunday show. Why the hell is a daytime weekend show a pre-record?!?! If she doesnt want to do the 1 show a week she actually does as a live show, she shouldnt be at Radio 1. Pre-recorded shows I can accept, but I dont really think theres a valid reason for having a daytime show as a pre-record every week, its not on partuclarly early so getting up cant be an acceptable excuse, and its finished at 1 so she still has most of the afternoon to be with the family. I cant connect with the show in the same way I did when it was Vernon, or Chappers and Dave doing it live. 5) Switch Do yourselves a favour BBC, get rid of it altogether. While it may be there to encourage a younger audience, it is pushing out the more loyal listeners. I used to listen to Dave Pearce on a sunday night after the chart show, now I'll find somthing on the tv instead of listening to R1 on a sunday night, and thats on the rare occassion I even listen to the Chart show these days thanks to the ever rubbish, kids tv style presenters, Fearne and Reggie. 6) The ........ show with ....... When Scott fills in for Chris, it is advertised as "The Chris Moyles Show With Scott Mills", and in a similar way we also have "The Scott Mills show With Greg James". While I think Greg and Scott are more than worthy stand-ins on their respective shows, I think that they should stop advertising it as the same show just with a differnt presenter. When Chris is off, Scott and co bring with them their own style of banter and features. There is no tedious link, there is no Cheggers Pop Quiz (that i've noticed), there is no Rob DJ's Monday Night Pub quiz etc etc etc. In a similar way Greg doesnt generally do OWO etc. They bring with them their own show, which is absolutely fine by me, but I think it's stupid to advertise it as The ..... Show with ....., The only times I've ever thought it applies is if Greg is called in for Scott very last minute and has banter and does the regular features with Chappers and Becky, or when Chris was off climbing the mountain and Vernon was in with the rest of the team

I think Zane is an aquired taste. When he first came to Radio 1 I couldnt stand him and wanted him off air ASAP, but now I think his style has changed a bit and I find him a lot more listenable now

does anyone know if it will the the Scott Mills show with Greg James (ie with Oh Whats Occurrin? and Becky/Chappers chipping in) or Greg goin it alone (ie with The Game With No Name, and Neil chipping in)?

I've got no idea how many texts I've had read out, mostly by Greg because I'm an Early Breakfast regular, but by most of the other DJs as well, been on air on the phone with Greg twice, Nihal and Huw. Emails read out by Greg and The Surgery. I even got mentioned on Greg's blog with my (rubbish) "chappers chappers dave dave" thing on Youtube, which was also talked about briefly on Moyles later that day, albeit they never said who was behind it

Bit late, but I too am loving the thread title, not quite what I was expecting it to be about.

1 of my so called "friends" sucks. Firstly I was properly screwed over when it came to my best friend, who I have very strong feelings for. I discovered last week that contrary to my initial thoughts, it was my friend who asked her out dispite the fact I had told them just days before I would never make a move on someone they liked because friends are important to me. I would have expected them to extend the same courtesy to me, particularly as they knew I had been trying so hard to find out what she liked in a guy so I could do whatever it took to get her attention, changing image, more outgoing, weight loss etc. They let me carry on with all this for a good week before I found out something was going on between them and this also was a factor in them going down in my estimation. As much as I've tried not to for the sake of the girl I now feel myself resenting them more and more every day. If anyone treated me the way she had been treated by my "friend" i'd have binned them off long before now. They seem to be incapable of telling the whole truth with anyone including their girlfriend. Over the last couple of weeks she's been on the phone/text/msn almost daily telling me all about the stress and upset she's had. Nights out get spoilt becase her other half has too much to drink and she ends up having to look after them and stop them getting in to trouble, they were found to be telling lies about who they talking to and why they were going off to meet people, she told me that at the weekend they admitted they had told lies to their friends about why they werent talking to them, and seems to think that acting like a child will let them get away with all of this. I have a suspicion they think I'm trying to come between the pair of them. The girl has been coming to me for a shoulder to cry on and someone to talk things over with and I think this has got my "friend's" back up. Last week when I asked if she was happy with things being sorted out between them she said she was but could tell I wasnt, I told her that its between them but she said she still wants to know what I have to say on it all. It angers me so much to see someone get treated this way, and it is only made worse because she is my best friend, and also because I know that I would treat her so much better if I was ever lucky enough to be going out with her. I just wish there was something I could do to make things better for her. You may have also noticed I've been saying "friend". This is because I dont know if I can, or even want to, consider them as a friend any more

I think they would be tempted initially, I know I was for the first week or so after I chucked her. However, knowing what I now know about her, if I ever see that lying cheating paranoid self centered posessive selfish vain little cow ever again it'll be too soon.

Seeing my best mate getting hurt by her girlfriend sucks pretty bad. Every day for over a week she's either text me about it, spoken to me in person or had long phonecalls about how she feels about someone her girlfriend is chosing to be friends with and how its upsetting her. I want to tell her the obvious solution but I just can't bring myself to do it
