1. Preferred their earlier stuff to be honest, though that was rubbish too... And what's Ade Edmondson doing moonlighting in the video...?! Uncanny resemblance at times...
2. Black Books, Friends, Cold Feet, Battlestar Galactica, TV Burp - for starters...
3. I came across the following article in the Guardian today. The gist is that people attending previews of films may be asked to leave their mobiles at the cinema desk, for fear of pre-release copyright theft. http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2009/jul/22/piracy-film-mobile-phones Personally, I think this is ridiculous. I actually can't hand my mobile to an unknown party as it's used for work and contains confidential info, but I can't imagine anyone being happy doing so. Also, does anyone actually bother with pirated 'camcord' movies? (i.e. where it's been filmed from somewhere in a cinema on a camcorder and posted for download) For me, the whole purpose of watching a film is the quality of the visuals, sound, acting and story. The little experience I have of pirated movies is that they tend to be lower quality in terms of visuals and sound, which effectively spoils the rest for me - even if the film's excellent... I'm lucky enough to be able to buy the stuff I'd like to see, but it's more about getting the full experience as intended by the director/producer. 'Home cinema systems' and Youtube's HD option are definitely a nod in this direction. So, the real question is: are people more interested in seeing movies in high quality (and having to pay to do so), or are they more bothered about being the first to see a film via a dodgy download or copy before it's released officially?
4. Yeah, we're waiting for 'its-me-donna' to join...
5. A possible spoof then? It's gruesome whatever it is.

7. I can see this 'Scott, Scott, Scott' thing winding up on two people's message alert on their phones... And we're listening to one of them.
8. It's because Beccy isn't there. Scott will have been late back from a fag break...
9. The one in the blue 'inky pinky' t-shirt, if oranged up and shorn of hair could be a perfect Scott I reckon.

Torchwood.

I really enjoyed the last week's 5 parter. I found the storyline chilling, what with the world's governments' decision (led by the UK and US no less) to surrender 10% of the world's population of children, by force if necessary. Abominable story, even for someone without kids. The parallels with Blair's downfall and the events surrounding the Iraq war - especially the 'insider' who is made into a fall-guy and then takes his own life - made the whole thing resonate more than a run of the mill drama, especially given that this programme is normally considered as science fiction fluff. Good stuff. Especially as I'm really not a fan of Torchwood normally.
13. Happy birthday DC. Hope it's a good one for you! All the best.
14. Many happy returns Grace. Hope you have a great birthday today and have lots of fun stuff planned...
15. Is 'Noel from Hearsay' the one that looks like Shrek? Beccy's strange...
16. I'm really liking this new Dizzee Rascal/Calvin Harris track... Thought it was a bit weak initially, but it seems to be another grower.
17. That's horrible news Mitchell, there can't be much worse than feeling unsafe in your own home. I once spent a week of every night on the sofa with a baseball bat after confronting someone who appeared to be 'casing' my home several nights on the trot. Not a good (very uncharacteristic) head space to be in at all, and lasted until I could get my house secured with good door and window locks plus an alarm. Hope everyone else there is coping as well...

Twitter

That's pretty clear to be honest. Despite huge success and massive capital investment, the owners have yet to work out how to make money from it for themselves. I reckon they'll just sell it sometime soon to a big corporate that will have a plan already in place to spoil it for us all.
19. I'm thinking a bowl of cold water for my feet might do for now... It is hot, though an outdoor pool (rightly) costs a fortune to fill. It's amusing seeing how many there are around here on the zoomed satellite Google Maps view though. Bastards.

Twitter

Double-post - apologies. Seems like Twitter are not evolving, but regressing in usefulness - http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/blog/2009/jul/01/twitter-web20 Do any of you bother with the web interface to Twitter still, or all use 3rd party apps to get at and update your feeds? Is this worth a poll Jono, or too geeky?
21. Bit late with this comment, been at the vets getting the kittens checked out and start vaccinations etc. All good and healthy. The reason to change the ssid on your wireless router is to avoid anyone 'war driving' nearby from simply seeing what type of router you're running, and then trying all the known vulnerabilities for that make/model to find a way onto your network... And the reason you shouldn't identify it with your name or home address is in case it's compromised and the hackers capture any personal information. They can more easily open bank accounts etc if they have personal info, a home address and a way into your network.... Enjoyed what I've heard of the show - just heard Jono's OWO Glastonbury counter before we left, nice one Jono. Did they credit you this time? Goodness, but it's hot here!
22. The tribute show on R1 tonight by @mistajam was very well done. Great to hear so many good old tracks. Nice one R1.
23. Did you include an itunes namespace declaration in your RSS feed? rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/DTDs/Podcast-1.0.dtd" version="2.0"<rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/DTDs/Podcast-1.0.dtd" ="" version="2.0"><rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/DTDs/Podcast-1.0.dtd" ="" version="2.0">The following link contains a good example of the feed coding, including explanation of all the itunes specific tags: http://www.feedforall.com/itune-tutorial-tags.htm
