If somebody started singing on the bus would you join in? That was the aim of this week's social experiment for Scott Mills and his mate Chris.

He's a bit like a work experience boy at the moment filling in here and there with the jobs that need doing, but BBC Radio 1 have finally given Matt Edmondson his own show!
As part of the changes to the station today Huw Stephens will be leaving the new music show that he presents between 9pm and 10pm on a Wednesday night, freeing up a space for Matt.
His show promises to be "new and exciting" and will start in April 2011.

Jo Whiley has quit BBC Radio 1 after 17 years at the station to take up a new role on BBC Radio 2.
The former morning show presenter, who currently presents the weekend show between 1pm and 4pm, will start a new Radio 2 show between 8pm and 9.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4th April 2011.
She will also continue to present Radio 2's "In Concert" show on Thursday evenings.

A decision on the future of the BBC Asian Network could be made within the next month.
The future of the service has looked doubtful since this time last year when the BBC director general Mark Thompson earmarked it and BBC Radio 6 Music for closure.
However, although 6 Music was spared, the BBC Trust weren't so kind to the Asian Network. They suggested closure of the service and that the BBC looked to new ways to meet the needs of the station's audience.

The Electric Proms series has given us such treats as Elton John teaming up with Plan B and an exclusive Robbie Williams night with a special string and horn section. Dizzee Rascal performed with an orchestra for 1Xtra, whileOasis performed with the Crouch End Festival Chorus.

Our attention has been drawn today to an article from The Sun which claims that Chris Moyles has been banned from talking about the sacking of Andy Gray (and the resignation of Richard Keys).
The reporter Colin Robertson writes that the breakfast presenter has been told not to talk about the sexism saga - despite Greg James and Scott Mills making quips about the story.

Scott Mills is getting involved with a new project for Comic Relief next month meaning that Sara Cox will be taking the reigns of the afternoon show in February.
There's no news as to what Scott is up to for Comic Relief but we do know that Sara will present the show in the week beginning Monday 18th February 2011.

BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra are working on a new special event for 2012 set to be based in London around the time of the Olympic games.
The outdoor festival is being spearheaded by Jason Carter, who has been working behind the scenes on BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend over the past few years.
Little detail has been given about the event but it is intended to deliver something "extremely special" to the young people living in the boroughs around the Olympics site in East London.

The artist behind the album 19 and the future hit album 21 will be performing in a special Live Lounge for BBC Radio 1 this month.
Live Lounge 'XL' isn't a dig about Adele's weight - it's the name of a special extra long Live Lounge which will feature 30 minutes of live tracks during Fearne's show.
