5 June 2006: Scott’s gullible-mum revenge, Laura and James and Flirt Divert

Scott started the show with his attempts at the Embrace World Cup song. 10 minutes in to the show and it was shaping in to an interesting one.

Scott believes his dislike in football usually comes down to the fact that everyone time he’s in a park somebody kicks a football at him. On Saturday he had a football kicked in his face within a few minutes of arriving with his mates. Remember if you want to turn him from Scotty to Motty, just go to Radio 1 on the BBC interweb.

Scott’s Gullible Mum – The Revenge

Scott was quite paranoid about things today, the studio was in on a joke but Scott wasn’t. Scott hadn’t mentioned Jo Whiley this afternoon since joking about her all last week. But since a phone call earlier Scott hadn’t said a word. This is the point where Chappers puts up the fader and we hear from Scott’s gullible mum.

So to cut the long story short, Scott had a phone call earlier from Rhys, one of the bosses at Radio 1 about Jo Whiley who wasn’t happy with Scott. Scott had joked that Jo had slept with senior management to get her show, and Rhys told Scott she wasn’t happy. As Jo was a big friend of Victoria Newton at The Sun, Jo had given Victoria a story about Scott trying to get off with Jo in her hotel room one time, and that he has a tattoo with an anchor and ‘hello sailor’ on it that Scott has. Scott was absolutely papping himself about it all, and wasn’t sure what to say. The call ends with Rhys saying he’ll come down to see Scott to talk it through in the office. Thankfully it’s not true at all, and it was just the team joking around trying to get some revenge on Scott. The next 15 minutes were spent with Scott trying to gloss over this and trying to move the conversation on.

Scott would like to clear it up he only has had one tattoo – a Henna tattoo, which is a transfer sort of thing that you get with sweets.

Chappers: “Did it have an anchor on it? Hello Sailor? Or Popeye?”

Scott: “No!”

Laura and James – But who wears the dress in this relationship?

A Date To Remember

Laura and James have been together 2 months tomorrow. People are thinking James is a bit weird, as it’s not Laura who remembered that but it was James. What’s so weird about it all? I remember that sort of stuff. Chappers had a mate who couldn’t remember what colour his wife’s eyes were. Now that is bad! Laura still argues that’s not weird.

Laura: “You’re all losers!”

Chappers: “Says the one with the one that came fourth”

Scott: “Let’s not have a loser battle shall we!”

One listener pointed out you can’t have a two month anniversary as anniversaries are an annual thing. He may have a point, but there’s no room for these geeky facts on this show.

When Scott gave James a call, James correctly identified Laura studied English and Theatre Studies at university. He didn’t identify Laura’s specialty in the kitchen is Vegetarian Lasagna, her bra size 34E and it took a bit of help to identify that his eyes were his best feature. It’s sadly not enough proof to show that he knows everything about Laura.

Scott: “I’m thinking we should do that tomorrow with you and your partner”

Chappers: “I hope not!”

Scott: “Not you, the listeners!”

No X-Factor

Scott’s fed up with X-Factor now then. He doesn’t want to watch tonight’s final, and thinks he might have to resort to Big Brother. Is it worth watching X-Factor just for Gillian McKeith’s scary Pussycat Dolls number? Chappers said if it stops Scott from watching Big Brother he’ll take him out.

Scott ad plenty of songs to play after 6 o’clock that Gillian could do tonight. I recommend Mr Hanky the Christmas Poo.

Flirt Divert

As soon as the sun comes out, so do the freaks – well according to Scott. First of all we had ‘The Aussie Thunder’, he had a great day yesterday and used the phrase ‘giddy-up’. He left his ‘stubby holder’ at her place and “she’s” black and it has a picture of a bloke with thongs on it. There was another guy calling Ben, who’s off of one of those where there’s blame, there’s a claim companies. And another girl who’d had great fun, and seemed very ecstatic and was all over the place. And finally, Thunder was back on. He’s still looking for ‘stubby holder’. It’s a lovely day, he wants it back. Apparently it’s a cooler and thongs are apparently flip flops in Australia.

An excellent show today – thoroughly enjoyed throughout. Make sure you listen again if you didn’t catch it, it’s worth it – bbc.co.uk/radio1.
