Marcel’s badly kept secret
Scott was already absorbed by the new series of Love Island, especially Marcel’s insistence that he did not want the other contestants to know he had been in Blazin’ Squad. Marcel then repeatedly told people exactly that, turning his supposed secret into the villa’s most conspicuous piece of information.
Scott also attempted Beat Your Phone without Chris. The music-recognition application faced him on tracks including Katy Perry’s “Bon Appétit”, Niall Horan’s “Slow Hands”, “Despacito” and Alexandra Burke. Scott managed a two-all draw.
A suspicious festival confession
Johnny had previously told the programme a spectacular Big Weekend story. He claimed that he had worn his girlfriend’s underwear, removed it in the crowd and thrown it towards Kings of Leon, accidentally striking a man.
His friend Dave now contacted the show with a problem: Johnny had been at a wedding and had never attended Big Weekend at all.
Scott called Johnny and encouraged him to repeat the account. Once Johnny had committed to every detail, Dave adopted the identity of “Mark”, the supposed victim, and demanded an apology. Johnny duly apologised for an incident that had never happened.
The trap closed
Scott finally revealed Dave’s involvement. Johnny admitted that he had invented the story because he was bored and promised not to tell it again.
Real or No Real offered more believable absurdity. Charlie Sloth considered personalised American number plates inspired by Donald Trump’s “covfefe” tweet, which were real. Another claim involved a device that allowed women to urinate standing up: the product existed, although the attached celebrity endorsement did not.
