Chris swears on his dog in a lottery prank
The day after the Brit Awards, Scott and Chris compared awkward moments from the night before, from unexpected conversations to seeing people in outfits that did not quite work. Beccy was ill, leaving the two of them to keep the show moving without her.
Chris then put one of his friends through an elaborate lottery prank. He claimed to have obtained numbers before the live draw, despite this being impossible, and asked the friend to keep the information completely secret.
The friend accepted the impossible story with impressive speed, heading to buy a ticket despite never having done the lottery before. When asked for a promise of secrecy, he solemnly replied: “On my dog, mate.”
That phrase became the show’s favourite part of the call. Scott and Chris tried to work out why someone would swear on a pet rather than their own life or a family member, but could only conclude that the dog had now become an unusually serious guarantee.
Later, Chris took on Innuendo Bingo alone while listeners played along at home. Without Beccy, the format was stripped back to one person, one cup of water and one bin, but it still produced the customary spluttering and splash-back.
