Audio description had created a new way to watch Naked Attraction
By now the show was actively hunting for new examples.
Greg James had found more from the latest *Naked Attraction*, this time involving male contestants.
The description carefully explained the lower halves being revealed before delivering a phrase Scott and Chris immediately knew would become a favourite:
a selection of salamis.
The pair could not believe somebody had sat down and deliberately chosen that wording for accessibility narration.
Then came a description of contestants attempting the “helicopter”.
Some managed without help.
Others, the narrator explained, had to give themselves assistance to get things moving.
Scott and Chris were finished.
The joke still highlighted a genuinely useful service
The programme kept returning to the same balance.
The descriptions were hilarious because *Naked Attraction* itself is such an unusual visual programme.
But audio description exists because blind and visually impaired viewers need the visual action translated into words.
Listeners had already told Scott and Chris how valuable the service was.
The show therefore continued laughing at the creativity without dismissing the accessibility purpose behind it.
They started asking for recommendations of other programmes with particularly memorable audio description.
Nigella Lawson and *The Yorkshire Vet* were suggested almost immediately.
Granny Tinder was back
Zofia’s grandmother returned for another search through dating profiles.
By now the format required almost no explanation.
Men could spend ages perfecting a Tinder bio.
Granny Tinder could remove them in seconds.
Scott and Chris continued reading the profiles while Lynette supplied the verdict.
Her standards remained far more consistent than the average dating-app swipe.
The quiz went death-metal festive
Don’t Look It Up began preparing for Christmas in the least relaxing way possible.
Famous festive songs had been turned into death-metal covers.
Scott and Chris had to identify the original beneath growled vocals and heavy guitars.
*White Christmas* appeared in one round.
Other familiar seasonal melodies became almost unrecognisable once the arrangement was aggressive enough.
Scott immediately imagined slipping one of the versions into a corporate Christmas DJ set just to see how quickly the room noticed.
The fishbone saga received an update
The podcast also returned to Chris’s ongoing concern about a fishbone apparently caught in his throat.
It was the sort of small bodily problem which becomes much more irritating once somebody has spent hours thinking about it.
The show treated the update with far more ceremony than the issue probably required.
By this point listeners who had followed the story were apparently invested enough to want to know whether Chris’s throat had finally returned to normal.
