Busted improves another commute
Listener Zoe follows Chris’s technique of timing a train exit to a Busted chorus. She crosses between trains on the Jubilee line as “Sleeping with the Light On” reaches its big moment, then carries the confidence into a successful interview.
Her commitment to Busted is already established: when she could not obtain a Hyde Park ticket, she took a bar job at the event instead. Scott and Chris accept that the cinematic commute works beyond Pinner and may genuinely improve a difficult morning.
Michelle faces the lift
With The Apprentice moving to Thursday nights, Scott inherits the fired candidates and creates Elevator Pitch. Chris meets Michelle Niziol on the ground floor of the BBC, and she has only the journey to Radio 1 on the eighth floor to persuade Scott that he should stop tanning.
Michelle argues that tanning is expensive, time-consuming and damaging, but Scott remains unconvinced. She is immediately sent back down without reaching the studio, allowing him to conduct an exceptionally short exit interview while firing her again.
Steph rehearses for Halloween
Regular listener Steph joins Real or No Real and casually reveals her weekend plan: a solo dress rehearsal for her Halloween party. She intends to wear the complete costume around the house with less alcohol than the real event, testing whether everything survives the evening.
Scott and Chris cannot understand why fancy dress needs rehearsal, but Steph’s matter-of-fact enthusiasm wins them over. They ask her to report back on Monday, creating a new story from what was meant to be a routine Friday game.
