2 September 2016: Pokémon saying “yes” becomes Scott’s latest obsession

Another excellent thing from Harriet

With Chris away, previous contributor Harriet offers Scott another “show and tell”. She first appeared with an online video of cartoon dinosaurs shouting “yes”; this time she has found the same treatment applied to Pokémon.

Every creature has been dubbed with a different emphatic “yes”, with occasional “no” responses adding unnecessary confusion. Scott listens through the surprisingly long collection, immediately adopts several of the noises and warns that they will now appear throughout the programme. Harriet has once again found exactly the sort of pointless clip he cannot resist.

Scott gains a television soundalike

Listener Jean has been watching E4’s Celebs Go Dating and believes contestant Ellis sounds exactly like Scott. Scott has already received several messages making the comparison, so he listens to the yoga teacher and accepts that the resemblance is strong enough to deserve a sound effect.

The discovery extends Scott’s growing interest in celebrity dating programmes, while yesterday’s Bobby Norris appearance continues to supply clips. He also revisits Ryan Tedder’s rider stories and hears from listeners enjoying the podcast on holiday.

Biffy Clyro visit the Live Lounge

Biffy Clyro close the first week of Live Lounge Month, performing alongside Ash and then joining Scott for Real or No Real. Simon Neil discusses visiting composer Danny Elfman’s eccentric Hollywood home, complete with water volleyball, unusual film memorabilia and an impressive cinema room.

The band considers Justin Bieber’s enormous rented Los Angeles property, while Simon reveals that his own most conspicuous collection is Lego Architecture. The game finishes as a 30–30 draw, leaving Biffy with a successful Live Lounge and an honourable result before Scott returns on Monday.
