Scott warned that anyone who believed their household did not contain a Strictly expert might be the expert themselves.
Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones
Toyah Willcox joined Scott from rehearsals with professional partner Neil Jones.
The pair were hiding in a children’s changing room before returning to the studio.
Toyah had begun bringing Neil boiled eggs for lunch because he was staying in a hotel and needed enough protein for training.
Neil said his contribution was the knowledge and love of dance.
Surviving the dance-off
Toyah had been in the bottom two at the weekend and admitted that she had been ready to leave.
Instead, she returned to rehearsals determined to improve.
Neil praised her focus during the dance-off and said she had followed his instruction not to add new movements or panic.
Toyah explained that she was taking the experience extremely seriously and did not want to treat it as a holiday.
Remembering who she was
Toyah reflected on joining one of television’s biggest programmes at 66.
After decades of music, acting, books, theatre and live performance, Strictly had reminded her of the fearless person she had been earlier in life.
Scott played Madonna’s Ray of Light, which Toyah had danced to during the first week.
The pair were preparing a samba to Poor Unfortunate Souls from The Little Mermaid, creating an immediate connection with Scott’s own memorable Under the Sea routine.
The Birthday Game: Sam
Sam from Norfolk turned 54 and was heading to Rhodes with his wife after helping their children return to universities around the country.
The holiday doubled as a celebration of both their birthdays.
Sam played for a number-one song from 1 October before beginning the journey.
Parents at Freshers’ Week
Scott also heard from parents becoming more involved in their children’s Freshers’ Week.
One couple had attended a bottomless brunch while visiting their son at university, prompting listeners to debate whether parents had become too comfortable joining student social life.
