Scott discovers he might have psychic powers after a series of small coincidences, and decides to put his newfound abilities to the test by offering predictions to callers — including Barry from Wiggins, who wants to know if he’ll get lucky tonight.
The show opens with Scott still recovering from illness and reflecting on his earlier encounter with celebrity psychic Sally Morgan. He recounts how Sally had predicted he’d be offered a television job (which turned out to be the lottery draw he’s doing that evening), leading him to wonder if he might possess psychic powers himself. Scott shares examples of his supposed clairvoyance: ordering a large wine in a Bristol hotel and somehow knowing he’d receive a small glass instead, and having a hunch that a train he was running late for would itself be delayed.
Inspired by these coincidences, Scott decides to formally launch “Psychic Scott” on air. He and production assistant Barry attempt a synchronised drawing exercise to test their psychic connection, though they acknowledge their art skills are poor. A caller named James rings in to confirm Scott’s wine story actually happened to him too in the same Bristol hotel — a coincidence Scott finds genuinely eerie.
Later, Barry from Wiggins calls in to ask Psychic Scott whether he’ll get lucky tonight. Scott goes into character, claiming something is entering him and channelling a vision. After a dramatic pause, he delivers his prediction: no. Barry seems to accept this with good humour, though there’s gentle mockery in the studio about how easy it is to make such a guess. The segment plays on Scott’s playful scepticism toward the Sally Morgan footage while simultaneously parodying psychic show conventions.
