7 June 2024: Betty and Fred chase Diamond’s crown

The cat-step championships

Scott discovered that some owners tracked their cats’ daily movements through collars and placed them in local leagues.

Emma’s cats Betty and Fred were second and third behind a cat named Diamond.

Other competitors included Roxy, Simon, Holly and Spot.

Scott encouraged Betty and Fred to chase the title while admitting that owners might not want to know how far cats travelled at night or what they were doing.

Taylor arrives in Edinburgh

The Taylor Tracker confirmed that Taylor Swift had finally arrived in Britain.

Edinburgh welcomed her with a dedicated tram, a merchandise shop and a pipe band performing Love Story.

Fans queued outside Murrayfield hours before the first show.

Scott compared Edinburgh’s welcome with Liverpool’s planned Taylor Town, mural, throne, butterfly installation and academic “Tay Day”.

He challenged Cardiff to reveal what it was preparing for its single concert.

The Birthday Game: Wayne

Wayne from Denbigh in north Wales turned 43 and worked on local highways, meaning friends constantly asked him when he would repair their potholes.

He enjoyed motorsport and had recently begun watching Drive to Survive.

Wayne liked Iggy Pop, Black Sabbath and Bob Marley.

His first spin was the Fugees’ Killing Me Softly. He rejected it.

The second was Black Eyed Peas’ Boom Boom Pow. He gambled again.

His compulsory final song was Baz Luhrmann’s Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen), number one in 1999.

Wayne described it as an iconic record and accepted the result enthusiastically.

The Wonder Years

The Friday programme continued with the Wonder Years and the final Taylor Tracker updates before the weekend.

Handover

Scott handed over after Taylor’s arrival and Wayne’s successful third spin.
