Chris was missing from the second-to-last Monday
Scott opened the week without Chris, who was taking family time.
Listeners complained that the absence was robbing them of precious remaining minutes before the final show.
Scott told them to take it up with Chris when he returned.
Rylan had a snake in the house
The immediate crisis belonged to Rylan Clark.
He had posted videos after finding a snake inside his home and had no idea what to do with it.
Rylan asked whether it could attack him, whether it was dangerous and why there was suddenly a snake in the house at all.
Scott knew exactly how his friend’s brain worked and described him as “worst case scenario Rylan”.
He would immediately imagine the most dramatic possible outcome and then Google until he found something which confirmed it.
Rylan eventually lost sight of the snake around his doors and went to sleep without knowing where it had gone.
Scott messaged him the following morning and received an update confirming that the animal was still unaccounted for.
Listeners sent advice, some helpful and some designed mainly to make Rylan even more nervous.
Davina McCall returned in one of the great Innuendo Bingos
The final weeks were built around listener requests for archive moments.
One of the most popular was Innuendo Bingo, particularly the edition with Davina McCall.
Davina had treated appearing on the game as a genuine bucket-list ambition.
Scott replayed clips which had made her spray water repeatedly, including *Inside the Factory* talking about people “flicking the beans” and Nadia Sawalha attempting to eat a burger which was too big for her mouth.
Davina understood the assignment immediately and became one of the wettest and most enthusiastic guests the feature had ever had.
The quiz kept the nonsense coming
The programme also used rounds including Rapper or Accountant and X Factor or Live Lounge, continuing the habit of building whole quizzes around categories that sounded barely plausible until the questions began.
With only days left, Monday was less about moving the show forward and more about resurfacing moments people had specifically asked to hear again.
