Hating the same things brought people together
Scott and Chris followed up the dating app Hater, which matched people through shared dislikes rather than common interests.
Listener Lauren had downloaded it after hearing about it on Breakfast and matched with Stephen largely because they both disliked inspirational wall signs and the whole “Live Laugh Love” style of home decoration.
The shared irritation gave them enough common ground to begin talking properly.
Another listener said a relationship had started through a mutual dislike of Adobe Photoshop, strengthening Scott’s theory that being annoyed by exactly the same things could be as useful as sharing hobbies.
Can every actor sing?
The release of a new *Fifty Shades* soundtrack prompted a discussion about actors who unexpectedly turned out to have good singing voices.
Jamie Dornan was on the soundtrack, while Scott and Chris remembered musical performances from Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Gosling.
The growing list made them wonder whether singing ability was secretly part of becoming a successful film star.
The Live Lounge fart was finally acknowledged
Scott and Chris then admitted something they had apparently known about for years.
The Live Lounge microphones were sensitive enough to capture almost everything.
That included, on occasion, suspicious noises from nervous performers or band members.
They replayed several old examples, including a London Grammar performance, while being careful not to blame any one member of a group.
The noises might have had innocent explanations.
But Scott and Chris had been waiting a long time to play them.
