Google Street View was circling Radio 1
The Google Street View car had been spotted around Broadcasting House.
Producer Helena had seen it twice and responded by jumping and waving in the hope of appearing in two separate locations when the images eventually updated.
Scott had previously been caught by Street View without such preparation and objected to how the automatic face blurring made perfectly innocent people look vaguely criminal.
He wanted Google to contact everyone first and ask whether they approved of the photograph.
Helena had no such concerns.
She saw every camera as an opportunity.
Granny Tinder reviewed the Love Island homework
Lynette had completed the task set the previous day.
She watched the *Love Island* conversation involving Andrew, Tasha and Coco and left producer Amy a traditional voicemail with her reaction.
Her summary was exactly what the show had hoped for.
She was no longer easily shocked, but she could not understand why such intimate details needed to be discussed publicly rather than kept behind closed doors.
Scott and Chris played the message in full appreciation of the generational contrast.
Becky Hill had another rant ready
Becky Hill had already become famous on the programme for allowing frustrations to build until she arrived and unloaded them in one enormous rant.
Previous targets included the demand for endless TikTok content from pop stars.
This time, the subject was Scott and Chris leaving Radio 1.
Becky was furious.
She demanded to know what Chris planned to do instead, mocked the idea of him disappearing into football projects and complained that Scott was abandoning her for Radio 2.
More importantly, she wanted to know where she was supposed to rant now.
The show had been her reliable outlet.
Without them, who would let her turn up, complain and then return to normal life?
She jokingly blamed them for the potential collapse of her radio plays and accused the pair of selfishness towards both her and their listeners.
Scott thought it was some of her finest work.
James the private investigator returned from the archive
The Friday archive preview brought back James the PI, the private investigator who had once become a regular contributor.
One of his stranger cases involved following a woman whose husband supposedly suspected she was having an affair.
James and a colleague obtained photographs of her meeting another man.
Everything appeared to be going suspiciously well.
Then they realised the man in the photographs was actually her husband, the same person behind the investigation.
The couple had apparently arranged the whole thing because they enjoyed being followed and photographed in public.
James later learned it was not the first time they had involved private investigators.
Scott and Chris were fascinated that somebody’s relationship hobby could be professional surveillance.
Thursday had moved from maps to rants to surveillance
By the end of the show, Google had been taking photographs of the public, a private investigator had been paid to take photographs of a couple who wanted him to, and Becky Hill had verbally photographed the collapse of her Radio 1 support network.
It was an unusually coherent theme for a programme that rarely intended to have one.
