Scott had finally watched The Greatest Showman

Scott began with a film recommendation several years later than everybody else.

He had watched The Greatest Showman.

He loved it.

The film had come out in 2017.

Scott already knew the songs because Radio 1 had played them for years.

Only now did he finally understand the story around them.

The experience sent him down a YouTube rabbit hole watching auditions and development footage.

Chris was amused that Scott could spend years enthusiastically playing music from a film without ever actually seeing the film.

Encanto was already taking over the chart

The conversation then moved to Disney’s Encanto.

Several songs were performing strongly in the UK chart.

Most importantly:

We Don’t Talk About Bruno.

Scott wanted to know who Bruno actually was.

Chris refused to explain properly because that would mean giving away the plot.

The fact Scott had not seen the film did not stop him considering the possibility of getting an actual person called Bruno onto the show if the record reached number one.

Famous siblings returned with Tom Hill

During breakfast cover earlier in the month, Scott and Chris had decided famous people received enough attention.

The spotlight should move to their siblings.

That brought Tom Hill onto the show.

Tom is Becky Hill’s older brother.

Scott deliberately tried to give Tom the kind of interview Becky normally receives.

What was next for Tom?

What were his big ambitions for 2022?

Tom talked about work in recruitment and personal plans including a possible trip to Everest Base Camp.

He had also bought a new car.

Scott delivered all of this as though Tom were launching a major new album era.

Being “Becky Hill’s brother” followed him everywhere

Tom admitted that Becky’s fame inevitably shaped conversations.

People asked about tickets.

Autographs.

How Becky was doing.

Whether Tom could arrange something.

Scott could see how strange it must be to hear your sister constantly referred to by full celebrity name even when you simply know her as your sister.

For one afternoon, the programme refused to let Becky become the centre of the interview.

This was Tom Hill’s press campaign.

Jordan North had been keeping Who Game ideas in his phone

Then Jordan North joined one of his favourite features:

The Who Game.

Jordan had a notes list on his phone containing things he believed deserved a nostalgic Whooo.

He was extraordinarily enthusiastic.

One suggestion was New Music Friday, a phrase and concept which had become normal enough that people barely noticed how much music release culture had changed around it.

Caller Alice remembered using conkers to keep spiders away, an old piece of household folklore which immediately produced arguments about whether it ever worked.

Other memories included BBC Playlister and white dog poo.

Jordan wanted to come back.

Scott did not need persuading.

Dinosaurs returned after anti-Rex-gate

The quiz also revisited dinosaurs after Scott’s scepticism the previous week.

The team were still trying to educate the newly created anti-Rexer.

Quiet cover versions supplied another round.

Scott had not become a palaeontologist.

Jordan had, however, become an official Who Game enthusiast.
