Granny Tinder had a long-distance problem
Zofia’s grandmother Lynette returned to judge another round of profiles.
One of the men was Carl, an Australian barman.
The bio offered travel, drinks and the prospect of taking Zofia to Australia.
Lynette had no objection to Australians.
She did, however, see a very practical problem.
If Zofia actually fell for him and moved to the other side of the world, her grandmother would hardly see her.
That made the potential match considerably less attractive.
Even the spelling of Carl received scrutiny
Scott and Chris noticed Carl spelled his name with a K.
This became another completely unnecessary point of debate.
The profession also worried Lynette slightly because she associated bar work with somebody potentially enjoying drink too much.
Scott had to remind her that serving alcohol and drinking it are not the same thing.
That was the joy of Granny Tinder.
Every tiny detail of a profile could become evidence.
Bamboleo Wednesday reopened old moments
The weekly *Bamboleo* ritual again included classic clips from the show’s past.
By 2021, the feature was almost as much about the archive attached to it as the song itself.
Old characters and odd moments could be dropped in without warning and regular listeners would know exactly why they mattered.
Don’t Look It Up tested Radio 1 knowledge
One quiz round used the special song introductions and production elements Radio 1 listeners hear constantly.
Scott and Chris should theoretically have had an advantage.
That did not stop arguments breaking out over answers and timing.
The quiz had become increasingly fractious, with producer Grace often having to referee two presenters who treated a few points as though something meaningful depended on them.
