Chris finally paid off his student loan
Monday began with a milestone Chris had been waiting years to reach.
His student loan was finally paid off.
Scott congratulated him while also pointing out that his own honorary doctorate had come without any student debt at all.
Chris found this deeply unfair.
Scott was still perfectly happy using the title Doctor when websites gave him the option.
The degree had not required lectures, exams or repayments.
Chris had required all three.
Scott and Chris outsourced romance to each other
Valentine’s Day was only a few days away.
Chris admitted he had run out of ideas for what to write in a card to his wife.
Scott proposed a solution.
Scott would write Chris’s Valentine’s card.
Chris would write Scott’s.
Neither partner would know the words had been outsourced until the show revealed it.
Both presenters agreed because they trusted one another enough to make the idea funny without completely destroying the relationship.
The first drafts were already deliberately inappropriate.
Scott thought romance improved when somebody else was responsible for the embarrassing bits.
The snake nominations kept coming
The Essex python from the previous week still needed a name.
Listeners continued nominating exes.
The stories were no longer simply “we broke up badly”.
People described cheating, overlapping relationships and partners who had behaved badly with friends or relatives.
Scott and Chris realised the real appeal was not the animal itself.

Jack’s old dates were still replying
Jack’s attempt to revive previous romantic connections ahead of Valentine’s Day also remained part of the wider relationship conversation.
The man who had declared a dating ban at the beginning of the year was now receiving enough replies to old messages that Scott could barely keep track.
February had become the show’s relationship month whether the presenters intended it or not.
