Chris resigned from Instagram
Chris arrived at Radio 1 in a bad mood.
Over the weekend he had held a small party, ended up on his own afterwards and posted several enthusiastic Instagram Stories about beatboxers called Duke.
He woke on Sunday morning, regretted them and deleted the videos.
Chris believed the evidence had disappeared before anybody at Radio 1 noticed.
It had not.
Somebody on the Breakfast Show had saved the clips and played them on air before Chris even reached the building.
Chris decided this was enough.
He was taking a break from posting on Instagram.
Scott had previously advised him to calm down with late-night social media anyway, so this was presented as a responsible resignation rather than defeat.
Danni had one extremely specific obsession
The programme had recently encouraged listeners to send in whatever strange thing they were currently thinking about.
Danni took that invitation seriously.
She wanted to know whether men wiped after going for a wee.
Scott and Chris realised this was something women might never normally have reason to ask and men might never think to explain.
The answers varied.
Some men said no.
Others considered wiping basic hygiene.
Danni had an additional reason for caring.
She fancied AJ Pritchard from *Strictly Come Dancing*.
Scott therefore decided that there was only one scientifically useful question left.
Did AJ wipe?
They called him while he was rehearsing.
Danni asked directly.
AJ said yes.
“Hygiene is everything,” he explained.
Danni was delighted.
The answer had not reduced the crush.
If anything, knowing AJ was a wiper improved it.
Homes Under The Hammer returned
The programme also revived its *Homes Under The Hammer* game.
Scott and Chris had long treated the daytime property show as a source of strangely obvious music choices, where the soundtrack often made a literal joke about whatever had just been said.
The challenge was to hear a property clip and predict what song the programme would use next.
It worked because the television producers appeared to enjoy puns almost as much as Radio 1 did.
Chris’s university attendance came under scrutiny
The conversation also returned to student life and how many university lectures Chris had actually attended.
His Radio 1 career story regularly made university sound less like a period of academic concentration and more like preparation for nights out, DJ work and eventually getting himself into Scott’s orbit.
Scott was unsurprised to learn that lecture attendance had not always been Chris’s strongest statistic.
