James went undercover in a bar
The show’s private investigator James returned with another story from work.
A client had asked him to follow her husband in central London because she suspected he was cheating.
James tracked the man to a bar, where the target was with another woman.
Rather than stay hidden at the other side of the room, James got close enough to strike up a conversation about the slow service.
The man then bought James drinks, completely unaware that the friendly stranger beside him was documenting the evening and sending evidence back to his wife.
Scott and Chris were fascinated by how close an investigator sometimes had to get without revealing the job.
Esme’s dad heard the Freshers truth
The Freshers Game returned with Esme from Aston University and her father on the other line.
As in previous rounds, Dad had to answer questions about what his daughter had really been doing during her first weeks away from home.
The entertainment came from hearing a parent weigh up several equally awkward possibilities before discovering which one was true.
Chris prepared the breathalyser for the ARIAs
Scott was hosting the Audio and Radio Industry Awards that evening.
Chris had bought a cheap breathalyser and decided the best use for it was testing people from the radio industry as they arrived and celebrated.
The device was already looking slightly unreliable before they had even reached the ceremony, but that did not stop the plan.
Radio 1 Teen Heroes Holly and Ollie also joined the show and helped choose Bangers ahead of the Teen Awards.
