A glovebox contained a spectacular relationship contract
A list discovered in the glovebox of a second-hand car became the day’s main document. It appeared to set out the rules a girlfriend expected her boyfriend to follow.
The restrictions included not keeping the phone numbers of single women, not following girls on Instagram, Snapchat or Twitter and walking away if women approached him. One line effectively banned even looking at other girls.
The girlfriend also expected the right to inspect his phone at any time, required an “I love you” at least once a day and included the instruction that if she said jump, he should ask how high.
Scott and Chris were fascinated by how formal the rules had become and asked listeners whether their own relationships contained anything comparable.
Stag dos had their own restrictions
One caller involved in arranging a stag weekend explained that several members of the group had relationship rules that prevented them entering certain late-night venues. The restrictions were taken seriously enough that some of the group simply waited outside while everybody else went in.
The stories allowed Scott and Chris to distinguish between ordinary relationship boundaries and the much more extraordinary glovebox rulebook.
Matt Edmondson returned to Bingo
Matt Edmondson joined Innuendo Bingo and received the usual treatment from Chris. Scott and Chris jokingly revived one of their less flattering names for Matt before the game began, but there was nothing half-hearted about the amount of water involved.
The previous day’s Aston Merrygold mistake also remained alive. Chris’s accidental new identity as “Comedy Dave” had already become one of those errors the show was determined to preserve long after the original tweet disappeared.
