Chris returned from the Arctic Circle
Chris was finally back after filming another of his extreme-festival documentaries on a remote Norwegian island near the Arctic Circle. Reaching it had involved three planes and a ten-hour sailing trip, but the expedition had also given him the chance to interview Sigrid on top of a mountain and briefly perform with the gay choir whose trousers had caused so much trouble the previous week.
Scott survived Saturday Kitchen
Scott could finally report back from his appearance on Chris’s beloved Saturday Kitchen. The snake campaign had followed him all the way to television, but he said the experience had been even better than expected. One of the show’s features had even borrowed the Bangers idea, only with actual sausages: Scott held a sausage in each hand, dipped them into competing sauces and chose his favourite.
Chris was also given hope that he might eventually get his own Saturday Kitchen appearance, possibly through a filmed report. Scott warned him that some of his suggested late-night-food ideas might not quite fit the programme’s usual tone.
A McFlurry complaint inspired the Google Game
Scott’s friend Adam had sent a remarkably formal complaint to McDonald’s at King’s Cross after being unable to buy a McFlurry late at night despite seeing it advertised in the restaurant. The message had been written at around 2am after a night out and complained about the apparent contradiction with impressive spelling and grammar.
That led into the question of whether some people actually enjoy complaining, before the conversation wandered into cartoon crushes and then cartoon characters’ official ages. Cinderella was listed as 19 and Pocahontas as 21, which was enough to create an entirely new game where callers had to guess the ages of famous animated characters.
