19 December 2016: Chris sings Little Donkey in the BBC showers

The least festive place in the BBC

Scott begins a week of Breakfast cover and complains that Radio 1 does not look sufficiently Christmassy. His solution is to send Chris to the BBC’s basement showers, where there is no tinsel and several unsuspecting colleagues are getting ready for work.

Chris hides in a cubicle and softly sings “Little Donkey”, expecting the room to join in. Nobody responds. Scott makes him repeat the song and increase the volume, but the combination of running water, whispered commentary and complete silence from the other cubicles makes the mission more awkward than festive.

Jennifer Lawrence’s legs become a fact

Listener Georgina plays Real or No Real. One claim says Jennifer Lawrence employs somebody to ensure her legs always match the colour of her face, based on a moment before the Playground Insults recording when the actor called somebody over to correct the difference.

The incident happened, although Scott challenges whether colour matching is genuinely that person’s full-time job. Georgina’s generous interpretation of the facts helps her beat Chris and finish the round as the winner.

Lord Sugar’s scale is confusing

The final of The Apprentice makes Scott and Chris fixate on Lord Sugar’s enormous television and tiny fork. Winner Alana Spencer receives £250,000 for her cake business, while the programme’s domestic details provoke almost as much discussion as the result.

Door 19 of the Whooovent Calendar opens during the first Breakfast show of the week. With five programmes still to come before Christmas Eve, the calendar, crackers and early music are now operating at full festive intensity.
